If we had adapted a policy in 1989 of letting Israel handle her threats without of Sec of States each time injecting themselves into Israel's issues we would not have much of the mess in the Middle East we have today. Who stopped Saddams Nuke program in the 1980's? Israel did in a matter of hours. Israel has the Intel and military to handle many things but the State Department comes in taking up for rouge terrorist and terrorist states like a mother bear taking care of cubs.
