I can’t believe he didn’t get hauled off to jail. Which is a really depressing realization to have about one’s free country. But in this clip, which has gotten 4 million views in a week, a trucker gets pulled over by an Illinois State Trooper*. Why? The trooper sped past him well over the speed limit, according to the trucker, on his phone, on a wet road. So, the trucker laid on the horn.
He was then, of course, pulled over for “unlawful use of a horn” or some such nonsense, which is where the video picks up. I want to offer a caveat on this because no one seems to have reported it out and found the truck driver, but it has been posted at Esquire and < em>Road & Track, and it so delighted me, I had to show it to you. The trooper takes the traditional tack with him for a few minutes before the trucker tells him he has him speeding on his dash cam video. The trucker is also obviously extremely sure he’s got all his papers and what-not in order and can withstand scrutiny. He should probably enjoy his 15 minutes - now that he’s made a laughing stock of this trooper, not only to his face and his station, but by putting it on YouTube for everyone to see.
Not a smart move.
I guess he doesn’t plan on ever having to drive through Illinois again.
If we don’t start being “dumb” we are all screwed.

This video is just a small example.
Any contact with those in govenrment use your audio/video and use remote off site servers to record it to, so it cannot be seized. It’s real cheap to do.
It’s for your own protection
Wrong, it's not a smart move to lie and deceive under the color of government authority.

maine-iac7 has a point. It is IMPOSSIBLE to comply with the laws. We are all breaking MULTIPLE laws every waking moment. But keeping your head down doesn’t protect you from getting it chopped off.
That's not the issue here.
The cop was clearly was caught lying and deceiving right on camera. If not for the video/audio he would have done anything he wanted to the trucker.
Doing what he did under color of authority, acting as though he were above the law others are required to obey, is part of the big problem with those in government.
It's why public servants are becoming your masters. It won't stop until the people make it stop.
It is the fading of faith that induced people to think that more and more and more bans were the way to sanity.
I’m just saying, if a cop pulls you over and if he chooses there will be some reason, granted to him by our representatives, to arrest you. It is impossible to comply with the “laws” of our country. So there is no law.
Unfortunately, I would change "are becoming" to "have become".
That has zip to do with the cop, under color of authority lying and deceiving in addition to those in government routinely breaking laws other are required to obey.
The only reason the trucker did not get cited or worse, was because the cop was clearly caught and the evidence was in the truckers hand.
Use your audio/video when you come in contact with those in government. For your own protection.

So this friend of mine is attending a seminar given by a lawyer. And the lawyer opens up his presentation by saying: "You are all felons."
So my friend smirks. Grandstanding lawyer, my friend thinks to himself. Then the lawyer listed some common activities that are, in fact, felonies. Guess what? My friend had committed one of them. My friend, the felon.
Unlawful use of a horn? I’ve heard it all.
Exactly what I thought. If they can't find a law (you broke) to fit the situation, just make one up. And they wonder why people hate cops.
My high school humanities teacher (a huge lib) did this in our town. She got cited for interference. She took it to court and....lost.
I have one problem - the trucker has that plastic “joker” mask displayed. To my knowledge, this is directly connected with the Occupy Movement and anarchy.
