“At around 12:06 a.m. Friday, Ithaca Police responded to a report of a 25-year-old Ithaca man who was severely beaten with a baseball bat in the city.
Police say the man was assaulted on Chestnut Street by at least three people who “struck him with a baseball bat multiple times, causing injuries to his head, neck and torso,” according to Lt. Scott Garin with the Ithaca Police Department.
The victim was described to be “on life support” after the attack.”

Actually, given the location, and the fact that there were shots in the same location shortly thereafter, I suspect this had very little to do with race and more to do with drug deals gone wrong. Chestnut Street has a very high concentration of low income housing projects
