On America's birthday, do we still believe in America?
CNN ^ | July 4, 2014 | Newt Gingrich

Posted on 07/04/2014 9:09:50 AM PDT by Innovative

the Gallup numbers show that in 2006 the United States was one of the top countries in the world when it came to satisfaction with freedom. By 2013 it had dropped out of the top 25% of all countries.

A country in which 4 out of 5 people believe their government is corrupt is a country teetering between a populist uprising and a collapse into cynicism, passivity, and fatalism.

These results suggest we will either renew our commitment to the rule of law, the punishment of corruption and the insistence on honest self-government or we will cease to be America as the land of the free and the land of opportunity.

It's true -- we need to wake up before it's too late.

The means for change is the ballot box -- vote in November.

You know, Newt SOUNDS good, but he’s a part of the liberal operatus.

Does he need more money?

I believe in what America WAS.

I’d pledged allegiance to America all my life, and throughout most of my adult years I would have given my life for my country without question. Would I now? No. Not for a country that is so sick, twisted, and depraved as to embrace insanity like fag-marriage.

You seem to forget that after some 40 years of Dem control, Newt was the one who captured the House back for the Republicans.

Newt squandered the 1994 Contract with America victory. He is dead to me.

Half the population are stupid to the core, government public schools have brain washed the past two or so generations, all while the same government has imported millions of Muslims, illegal Mexicans and others from all over the planet. Government has made American citizenship all but pointless.

Our once small, honorable legitimate government became the controlling crown of corruption, disciples of deceit.

This is irreparable damage...

He lost a lot of credibility when he snuggled up to Nancy Pelosi for that photo op.

I believe in America... it’s Americans I’m worried about. We’re breeding a generation of lazy, entitled potheads who can’t look up from their iPhones long enough to do anything but order a Starbucks.

What is this politically correct “Do we still believe in America?”

America was founded on Judeo Christian values and throughout this nation’s history, great Presidents and Statesmen urged Americans to Honor GOD. HE is the reason we are free. HE is the reason why America has been blessed.

“God Bless America” has become a meaningless salutation. Until American Christians bless and honor GOD, this country will continue on a downward spiral. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

On this 4th of July, please take time to humble yourself and pray for a spritual rebirth in America.

So why don’t you move to the Philipines or something. And take all the gloom and doom prepper types with you.

I believe in the old America...the one with common sense, sense of morality and ethics, rule of law.

today???....not so much..

I don't believe in the American people anymore....used to be we had our fringes but thankfully the silent majority came in as the mature adults.....that is not happening anymore...

The whole Contract With America was a Pubbie scam that ended up doing the reverse of what was intended.

I still believe in America. Unfortunately, America doesn’t exist in places where the money is made, where policy is made, and where a majority of the people live. Thus, America has become an antiquated concept, like chivalry and faith, that the decision-makers and academics snicker at.

OUR FOUNDING FATHERS WERE religious, mostly Christian. Opportunity and responsibility are part and parcel with each of us doing our best to care for and support our self. AND OUR LOVED ONES/FAMILY. Sometimes it is not possible. ALL ABLE PEORSONS ON WELFARE COULD TO BE ASSIGNED A LOCAL JOB THAT SERVES THE COMMUNITY. THEN THE WELFARE THEY RECEIVE WOULD BE EARNED. There ARE EXCEPTIONS(ILL HEALTH, AND OTHER HANDICAPS THAT WOULD ACCOUNT FOR INABILITY OF DOING A SERVICE).

THE FREE PHONES ARE NONSENSE (moo) UNLESS IT IS A NEED FOR A SEVERLY HANDICAPPED PERSON. Then self respect is possible for all. Millions OF DOLLARS are spent giving to those that are healthy and capable of performing a community service.

NOW IT IS ABOUT OBTAINING VOTERS TO KEEP THEM BELIEVING THE DEMOCRATS CARE ABOUT THEM. Not so. MOO

God BLESS AMERICA.

Nope. Ain’t leaving. Because when it all comes falling down, I VERY much want to be within the radius of these scumbags who destroyed this once-great country. I want the feel of their warm blood beneath my fingernails. Can’t do that from the Philipines.
