The MSM and the state of the LIV are factors. While Hillary's popularity is questionable, Bill Clinton actually is very popular (not with me, probably not with you). Many people buy the MSM line that there was a lot of politics behind his impeachment. "Yeah, it was perjury, but doesn't everyone lie about sex" was the meme.

I don't know if a failed impeachment really helps us. Although, I bet that Obama would vastly up the pace of his illegal executive order practice while it was underway!
