THE NEW ARISTOCRACY
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | July 5, 2014 | Ron Maxwell

[...]

If Hillary Clinton or Jeb Bush were to become president of the United States it would mean the power and influence of the presidency remained in the hands of the Clinton family for possibly sixteen years, and that’s not even counting the princess in waiting, Chelsea; and in the case of the Bush family, possibly twenty years, and that’s not counting the heir apparent, George Prescott Bush.

Have we devolved into a nation of bleating sheep, or screaming teenagers at an episode of American Idol? Can it be true that there are no other citizens in this great nation worthy of serving in the highest office of our land?

Is Mrs. Clinton truly the only woman? Is Mr. Bush truly the only man?

It is my hope that Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Bush would in a moment of quiet patriotic introspection discover in themselves a generous humility that would cause them to realize that enough is enough.

They do have considerable talents and expertise, but so do millions of other Americans. They do work hard, but so do millions of other Americans. They are not “bad” people. But neither are millions of other Americans.

“Respice post te. Hominen te esse memento! Memento mori, memento mori.”

I suspect we won’t have any years of Hillary or Jeb as POTUS.

More likely Lizzie Warren followed by MooseChelle Obama.

Too bad they weren’t looking up to see someone dropping a house on them.

The first is possible; I don't think the second is. Even white liberals don't hate themselves that much.

They won’t.

“They do have considerable talents and expertise...” No, they don’t.

“They do work hard...” No, they don’t.

“They are not ‘bad’ people.” Yes, they are.

Enough Kool-Aid; wake-up, Ron. Otherwise, mostly good article.

This isn’t really an aristocracy. The word ‘Aristocracy’ comes from the Greek ‘Aristokratia’ meaning ‘Rule of the Best’.

What this is is a kakistocracy. A rule of the worst. The Bush dynasty is really some of the worst conservatives have to offer, and the Clintoons are some of the worst the liberals have to offer.
What have they actually done? Jeb is a supporter of Commie Core. Hillary has blood dripping from every appendage.

Neither are fit to be president!

I found an interesting article / commentary written by Tom Clancy in the 1970s. It discussed the “Mote in God’s Eye” and the Co-Dominium series of books. People said we can’t regress back to a monarchy. His article talked about how people crave stability more than almost anything else. They want to be able to plan ahead, know their rights and the law in 30 years.
To summarize, if the dictator does a decent job of ruling after a civil war, he’s considered good. If he passes the job to his son and that guy doesn’t do a bad job, a monarchy is born.
He then presciently prophesied that if the son of JFK road his father’s “Camelot” myth to politics, who would have denied him the presidency? I suspect that if John Kennedy Junior hadn’t died in that plane crash, he would be one of the major political contenders today.
Instead, the media pushes Bushes and Clintons.

The root of this may have begun when we started considering the widows of Congressmen and their adult children acceptable candidates for office. The solution is then banning someone who has a parent or close relative in a position from running for office.

Isn’t BJ the Bush family’s adopted son?

For the low-information voter, it's all about name recognition.

And apathy.

No need to investigate the candidates...just pull the lever of the name you recognize.

It is in the book “N-Space”, “Building the mote in god’s eye”. I think that section is actually by Pournelle, whereas the foreword is by Tom Clancy.
