Report: Murdered Arab Teen 'Was Burned Alive'

An Arab teenager whose abduction and murder triggered violent protests was burned alive, autopsy reports show, as clashes over the killing spread Saturday from Jerusalem to Arab Israeli towns.

Mohammed Abu Khder, 16, was abducted from his Shuafat neighborhood in Jerusalem early Wednesday, and his charred body found not long afterwards in a the Jerusalem Forest.

Palestinians have blamed Jewish extremists for killing him in revenge for the kidnapping and murder in last month of three Israeli teenagers.

Palestinian news agency Maan quoted Palestinian Authority Attorney General Mohammed Aluweiwi on Saturday as saying the initial findings of a post-mortem indicated the presence of smoke in the boy's lungs, meaning he was still alive while being burned.

Abu Khder also suffered a head wound, but that was not the cause of death, Aluweiwi added.

Israeli police said they still could not confirm the motive for Abu Khder's murder.

Will you please substantiate your assertion concerning death by fire with a verse reference? Leviticus 20:13 (NIV) says only that offenders must be put to death.

I'm just going off memory here, but the common Pentateuch method of putting offenders to death was by stoning. Often it just says 'put to death'. I believe if a man married a daughter AND her mother they were all to be burned to death, but that is the only one I vaguely remember that involved burning.
The rest: rape, murder, sodomites, bestiality, abortionists -- death by stoning, or put to death ....

It took me awhile, but this is the passage I was thinking of:

Leviticus 20:14 And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you.

If you find any other example (not counting the burning of children to Moloch -- because God was condemning those actions), I'd be interested. 'Put to death' might compass various means, but I believe the direction to burn an offender with fire is only in the Leviticus 20:14 reference. Thanks.

Kind of a mootish point though. Someone burnt this teenager to death (after apparently clubbing him over the head). I seriously doubt it was an Israeli as I think they'd be content with a bullet if it was strictly an act of revenge. And I doubt going after a random single teenager would explain the revenge factor. Probably other factors are involved.

Going right into an Arab neighborhood to do it also doesn’t sound like Jewish extremists, since they’d have to go outside their own turf and deep into injun country. The three teens were abducted near the Old Gate of Alon Shevut, right near an Arab village, but on the open road (personally, I suspect left-wing Jewish involvement in collaboration with Hamas).

As for Islam, Almost all sahabas agreed on severe punishment for homosexual. Some agree they should be burned and stoned, other said they should be thrown from height and then stoned, some said they should just be stoned, but most agreed, their punishment would be death.
