Did Lois Lerner commit extortion under US Code Title 18 section 872?

Because he posed a threat to Dick Durbin’s US Senate election in 1996, Illinois Republican Al Salvi was threatened by a United States government official. That official was Lois Lerner and she was using her position as a representative of the Federal Election Commission. In the course of her FEC inquisition of Salvi for alleged election law violations, Lerner made a statement that amounts to extortion.

Following the Chicago way, Durbin made a series of FEC complaints against Salvi and Lerner took the point in handling his case. According to Salvi, at one point Lerner made an offer to him that appears to have constituted the crime of extortion under US Code Title 18 section 872. She said, “Promise me you will never run for office again, and we’ll drop this case.”

Sure looks like it. But the DOiJ will never pursue charges.

The better question is did she commit extortion under state law? Maybe pursue charges in that venue...

I believe the statute of limitations has run out on any filing of extortion charges against Lois Looner. Also, this is the classic case of "he said, she said" and without a witness, a tape or anything in writing, Salvi's charge is toast.

But kudos to him to make this public again, and just at the right time. There's no doubt his extortion charge will infiltrate and subconsciously influence at least some future judges, jurors, legislators, committees, the public, etc. should this babe ever have to stand trial (or run for public office if she beats the rap, which endeavor, being a Democrat fascist, she probably would).

Yes.
But nothing will come of it because the DOJ is corrupt and the GOPe is too busy being one with the Democrats.

“Extortion is commonly practiced by organized crime groups. The actual obtainment of money or property is not required to commit the offense. Making a threat of violence which refers to a requirement of a payment of money or property to halt future violence is sufficient to commit the offense.”

The Obamanites appear to be an organized crime group, but I’m not at all sure Lois was trying to get money or property.
She was using the power of her office to try and intimidate a public official from performing his duties as he saw fit.
It’s definitely `intimidation’ and it’s probably a crime, certainly reprehensible and condemnable for a public official holding a position of public trust.
She should have been disciplined, even terminated years ago, so her superiors are responsible. I suspect this goes as far as the WH, thus the refusal of the administration, vis a vis the IRS, to disclose her e-mails.
Impeach!

Here we go:
“Intimidation means to make fearful or to put into fear. Generally, proof of actual fear is not required in order to establish intimidation. It may be inferred from conduct, words, or circumstances reasonably calculated to produce fear.”

“Stop what you’re doing, or face an audit.”?
Yeah, I’d say that’s intimidation.

This administration is out of control.

Issa will swear him in and hear his story, let her defend it. This is more grist on how the the IRS has been subsumed into the Black Short enforcement wing of the Democratic Party. That is the case that should be made, and people can understand it easier. They used the IRS to destroy political opposition to the Democratic Party.

Loony Lois Lerner used her then-FEC position to save Illinois Dummycrat Dick Durbin’s US Senate seat back in 1996. She conducted an inquisition into Durbin's opponent for alleged election law violations....and it worked. Dicky triumphed.

....2014 Dicky Durbin's running scared, again ....as well he should.......

As far back as 2008, at the presidential debate in Nashville, candidate Obama advanced his signature plan that was ultimately enacted (by an historic straight Democrat party-line vote) into the "Affordable Care Act:

QUOTING OBAMA: "No. 1, let me just repeat, if you’ve got a health care plan that you like, you can keep it. All I’m going to do is help you to lower the premiums on it. You’ll still have choice of doctor.”

Repeated over and over ---- with the promise that every American would be saving $2500.00 on healthcare costs.

SEN. RICHARD DURBIN SALUTES SMARTLY: “We Democrats believe — and we stand by this — if you like your current health insurance plan, you will be able to keep it, plain and simple, straightforward.” (Sen. Durbin, Congressional Record, S.6401, 6/10/09)

DURBIN'S VOTERS HAVE NOT SEEN SUCH LOCK-STEPPING PARTY LOYALTY SINCE 1930-40's ERA EUROPE
