Happy Birthday George W.

Our nation, this generation, will lift the dark threat of violence from our people and our future. We will rally the world to this cause by our efforts, by our courage. We will not tire, we will not falter and we will not fail. - George W. Bush Sept. 20, 2001.

Today is George W. Bush's 68th birthday. A man who, according to his father, "faced the greatest challenge of any president since Abraham Lincoln.”

His presidency will be forever scared by the Sept. 11 terrorist attack and the Iraq War. The media loved to label the Texan as uncouth and uneducated. There is even a Wikipedia page called "Bushism," which is dedicated to his unique use of the English language.

Just last week, however, Americans began to realize Bush might not have been all that bad. A Quinnipiac University National Poll found that more people now dislike President Obama than Bush.

President Barack Obama is the worst president since World War II, 33 percent of American voters say in a Quinnipiac University National Poll released today. Another 28 percent pick President George W. Bush.

Obama has been a better president than George W. Bush, 39 percent of voters say, while 40 percent say he is worse. Men say 43 - 36 percent that Obama is worse than Bush while women say 42 - 38 percent he is better. Obama is worse, Republicans say 79 - 7 percent and independent voters say 41 - 31 percent. Democrats say 78 - 4 percent that he is better.

The results must come as somewhat of a surprise to Bush and Obama as well. Happy Birthday, George W.

A great person, and an almost great President. During a time of crisis he was good, but he could have been GREAT. So many, many missed opportunities.

The BS that is going on at the boarder is largely his fault. After September 11 and the country's panic over terrorist, sealing the boarder would have been completely acceptable.

And we won't even talk about the Department of Homeland Security!

And I voted for him five times (three as Governor and two as President). Still a million times better than the current idiot, but not what he could have been.

Unfortunately he is a Bush, and his true allegiance is to the New World Order.

Conservatives should not look sentimentally on the Bush presidencies. Bush 1's ineptness brought us Bill Clinton. Bush 2's ineptness brought us Barack Obama.

Both increased government and government spending significantly and involved us in foreign wars that were for naught. Bush 2 even started the practice of celebrating Ramadan in the White House while lecturing Christians about tolerance (which we invented, by the way). Both men pulled a "fast one" on conservatives...

I wish him the best on his birthday. I think he’s a decent man. His record is mixed. On government spending, he was a failure.

I am willing to say happy birthday. I don’t miss him at all. He proposed amnesty for millions and a more open border policy within months of the 9-11 attacks. He allowed us to get bogged down in nation building rather than winning, kicking the ever loving out of the enemy and going home, he spent as much if not more than other presidents and lots of it on stupid stuff....including no child left behind.

I do not like the current occupant of 1600 but that doesn’t change the fact the overall W was a lousy president

All of the problems we are having at the border today, goes back to GWB. I’ll never forget him calling those who want to secure the border “Vigilantes.” He’s the reason why Republicans lost Congress in 2006 and why Obama is President now.
