CAMBRIDGE, England – The papers spent years hidden in a milk churn beneath a Russian dacha and read like an encyclopedia of Cold War espionage.

Original documents from one of the biggest intelligence leaks in history — a who's who of Soviet spying — were released Monday after being held in secret for two decades.

Someone in the White House is pretty pissed right now.

“2017! It was to be sealed until 2017!”

“The material mattered to him so desperately that he was prepared to put his life on the line for it,” Andrew said.

Can bonehead boehner even come close to this? What a difference a few decades make. We are lost.

LOTS of interesting allegations about what is in these files.

-The British Politician’s Pedophiles organization,
-”NGO’s” that were actually KGB fronts to cause unrest.
-US Democrats actually receiving funding through KGB front Orgs.
-Suitcases of banknotes taken to Indira Ghandi
etc...
The Chapters about India are interesting reading...

Of course, anyone that might have thought any of this could be true back in the 90’s and 2000’s was “just one of those crazy right-wing conspiracy nuts!”

How long would it take a group of Hollywood movie script writers take to come up with such “secrets”? About the amount of time that has passed since Snowden released?

Soviet spying in the U.S. goes way back. One of the most informative and well-written autobiographies one can ever read is Witness, by Whittaker Chambers, published in 1952. One learns from Chambers, who had been a Soviet spy himself and soon came to see for himself the evil that was the Soviet Union, how the Soviets operate in the U.S. and he names and describes the activities of some of the high-ups in the U.S. government who were Soviet spies. The Alger Hiss case might be familiar to students of U.S. history. Witness is a classic “must-read” for anyone who wants to understand the early start timeline and the movers behind the slide toward socialilsm

WITNESS is also an interesting read because you could say that Chambers was one of the first of the hated neo-cons. He went from being a communist spy to being an anti-communist who worked for many years with Bill Buckley at NATIONAL REVIEW.

Putin is a second generation communist secret policeman; he worked for the KGB for 16 years and no doubt would have retired from the system if Reagan, Thatcher, Solidarity, and the Pope hadn’t messed up his career path. Funny how things turned out though. Now, he’s one of the richest men in the world and in the minds of his supporters a swell fellow only out to save conservatism. So he’s as big of a fraud as Obama in my book. And they’re both narcissists.

"The newly released papers include a list of KGB agents in America over several decades. It runs to 40 pages and about 1,000 names."

”Where do I go to get my reputation back?”

[he]...took a sample of his files to the U.S. Embassy, only to be turned away.

Check out “Spy Catcher” (1987) by Peter Wright, former asst. dir. of MI5 in England. Also the spy novels of John Le Carre. I almost never saw my father who was away many nights fighting to keep Communists from taking over is white collar union in the New York metropolitan area. Communists were actively trying to take over unions in major east and west coast ports in the late 40s (Harry Bridges).

Oh my, that’s just what I was thinking :-)

Poor old maligned Joe.

The old Soviet Union WAS an evil empire.... and there likely are parts of that evil still in existence.

As I read your post and started to roll the page to reveal the picture, I thought at first you had posted a picture of Walter Cronkite.
