Hume: Obama 'For Better Or For Worse' Is Following Law On Border Crisis
Breitbart ^ | 7/7/2014 | Jeff Poor

Posted on 07/07/2014 4:43:16 PM PDT by bkopto

During his Monday commentary segment on Fox News Channel’s “Special Report,” network senior political analyst Brit Hume argued the blame for the so-called humanitarian crisis at the southern border isn’t President Barack Obama and his administration’s fault.

Instead he argued it was the law’s fault.

Hume pointed to the wording of the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008, pointing out that it has specific requirements for unaccompanied minors coming into the United States illegally and that he said is where much confusion lies.

“In the uproar of tens of thousands of illegal children pouring across the border, people don't know what the law is and others pretend they don’t.

Republican Congressman Raul Labrador of Idaho said on Sunday TV that the Obama administration should deport these children immediately. Later in the interview, he conceded the law does not permit that. The law in question is called the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008.

It was passed by Congress unanimously and signed by President Bush. It requires that immigrant minors apprehended at the border may only be deported immediately if they are from Mexico or Canada.”

“The rest must be turned over within three days to the Department of Health and Human Services to await deportation hearings,” he continued.

“In the meantime the law says quote, ‘They shall be placed in the least restrictive setting that is in the best interest of the child.’

With an estimated 50,000 such children having come here from Central America this year, you can imagine how much trouble HHS is having housing them not to mention how long it will take the courts to process their cases.

BS. Hume is pathetic on the illegal alien/amnesty issue.

So, if a fisherman casts out his baited hook and a fish comes along and takes the bait, it's not the fisherman's fault that he has a fish on the line?

This latest rush of illegals to our border has taken Obama's bait as certain as any fish ever took the bait. Obama has been intentionally luring the illegals for several years by ending border enforcement, ending deportations and granting legal status to so-called dreamers and others.

CAPTAIN OBVIOUS: “The law only applies if you let them into the country to begin with.”

Hume is vehemently pro amnesty. He gets very worked up defending the criminal aliens.

BUT: They are being delivered by Mexico, through Mexico, and with Mexican complicity. So where are they "from"?

They shall be placed in the least restrictive setting

That’d be DC.

Hume is wrong:

"The law in question pertained to victims of human trafficking, as you can tell from its name, the 'William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008.' It’s been magically transformed into a blanket order for indefinite residency covering nearly everyone who makes it across the border with a child in tow...”

It’s not a lie. Cool down there. Obama is following the law, but it’s probably more proper to say that he’s exploiting the law as a political tactic. Children of Central America are allowed to stay. This was originally put in place to stop the sex trade operations. It was not ever mean as a route into our country....which Obama is using it for. But, Hey. That’s our President....looking out for every country but the United States of America.

My plan:
Step-1=Verified (VERIFIED) border control and enforcement first.

Step-2=Have all illegal aliens register with the Fed government by some date certain where thy get some sort of number. After that date, anyone here illegally (without proof of registration) will be deported according to our laws.

Step-3= Count how many people registered as an illegal alien. Based on this number, decide what to do with these people.

Note about Step 3- We hear 11 million illegals are here, but for all we know it’s closer to 50 million. The registration will remove the mystery once and for all. The point is: any talk of amnesty or deportation or whatever is premature. Let’s get the data.

Once we have the exact number, more or less, we may decide to do a mass deportation or come up with some path or stop all immigration for 20 years until all these folks are processed. Whatever we decide...it needs to be an informed decision.

Ok. That’s my plan. It protects the borders and Provides us with information. The beauty is it puts off all talktalk about amnesty or deportation...only about getting data....taking a lot of the politics out of the equation.

Jeez, if I can come up with this solution, why can’t our leaders?

I agree with that. He should have said that all this was by design...Obama knows the law and a way around it.

If he is correct about the William Wilburforce US law saying only children from Mexico or Canada can be immediately deported, then the real concern is the coordination that had to take place for children from Central America to traverse Mexico, receive aid from Mexico in their journey, reach our border, and cross into our country.

It is a precise, too clever by half, manipulation of our law.

That.... is an ACT OF WAR!

It is certainly an oddity that Mexico doesn’t permit illegals, but these central americans end up at our border.

Mexico is in some kind of war with us, but our own government is at war with the people of the United States.

It ain’t the 50,000 children from Central America that worries us, Brit. It’s the criminals.

Fly in provisions for the children in their own countries and pay for their care by their own government.

So what does the LAW say about just walking across the border?
You mean terrorists can just walk across the border and say I want to stay, thats the LAW? Then what the hell is a border for?
I guess its to keep white Europeans out!

While technically accurate, Hume skips right over the fact Obama gave immigrants an open invitation/incentive to invade. That is one root cause. The primary cause is that we have border security that a toddler can walk right through. Built the fence!

If he is following the law, it’s an indication the situation has been preplanned and scripted by others.
