Sooner or later, there will no longer BE money to support the welfare program handouts as fewer and fewer people pay taxes. Perhaps it would be best if the entire nation decided to NOT PAY ANY taxes and shut the whole damn train wreck down.
That's old-style thinking. They borrow and print to fund programs now. All governments do. True, the cycle has to end at some point but it hasn't yet.

I’m doing exactly that next year! Hubby will retire early, at forty-nine, and we will buy some rural property in liver self-sufficient lifestyle. And I’m keeping my income at $20k, so between personal exemptions and the standard deduction, my taxable will be near zero.
