Buried in a largely overlooked government audit of the Obama-Care exchanges is a finding that casts still more doubt on the reliability of the 8 million enrollment number commonly cited by the administration and the press.
In a section titled "Other Issues," an inspector general report released last week found that the HealthCare.gov marketplace couldn't show it had been reconciling its monthly enrollment numbers with insurance companies.
That's despite the fact that the law specifically calls for this reconciliation, and the fact that, as the IG report notes, "the federal marketplace obtained the services of a contractor to reconcile enrollment information."
Obama administration officials "stated that the system to support reconciliations had yet to be developed."

Aetna says that out of 720,000 sign-ups, only about 580,000 were paid up by May 20, a payment rate of only 80.6%. It's also unknown how many have failed to keep up with their payments after making the initial one the law gives consumers a three-month grace period before insurers can cancel their coverage. But the number could be significant.
Ive spent months arguing with liberals over this very thing. Theyve been taking the administrations words and numbers at face value. But I was warning them that the administration has been cooking the books to inflate the enrollment numbers (among many other things). And that sometime in the near future the truth will come out and they will have egg on their faces as a result. Did they listen to me? Nooooooo.
The reconciliation system they are developing is called “Single Payer”.
No sh**. Really.
So I guess Roget has some work to do. Like adding “unreliable” into the lexicon of synonyms for “LIE”.
Meanwhile my wife continues to pay 2.5 times her previous amount for insurance and has a fourfold increase in her deductible. With no income and not being qualified for Medicare until 2019, this is a burden. And yes, she is a member of the “involuntarily retired” cadre of Americans. John Roberts could have ended this, but chose the coward’s way out and threw Americans into a financial fiasco. Anyone know how much has been wasted on Obamacare, sucked out of the economy or added to insurance company coffers?
Shocking, Ricky. Shocking.
