France foiled an Islamist terrorist plot to target the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and even a nuclear power plant, it emerged on Wednesday, as the country unveiled new, tougher anti-terror rules.

French police stumbled on the plans after decrypting coded messages between a 29-year-old Algerian butcher living in the Vaucluse, southern France, known only as Ali M, and one of the highest-ranking members in al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, or AQIM.

According to Le Parisien newspaper, in April last year, the married father of two who went by the pseudonym Abu Jaji was asked by his AQIM contact, whose web alias was Redouane18, to make “suggestions concerning how to conduct jihad in the place you are currently”.

Ali M suggested targeting nuclear power plants, “planes at the moment of take-off”, and a string of French landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre museum in Paris.

I predicted the Arab/Muslim problem in France a long time ago. Like a cancer, they have multiplied & overrun Western Europe.

Modern Europeans were probably never taught any history that included the problems inherent in the mohammedan “tradition”....

I never learned any such history in public school here in the U.S.A fifty years ago.

Let this be a lesson to some of the morons on this forum who want to completely gut the NSA. We need all the resources feasible to deal with Muslims, Democrats, illegals, and liberals. Without the surveillance the French government did, they could kiss several hundred lives and tourism to Paris good-bye.

I think it’s clear that we will need a whole new set of martyrs, as the one’s from both 911s are just a memory.

What will it take? The bombing of the Eiffel Tower? The Hoover Dam? The San Francisco Bridge? The Empire State Building? Some American GIs in Iraq hijacked and tortured before out eyes?

It will eventually come, and it will unleash fury like you’ve never seen in this country. What we’re seeing here in the years of Obama, is an aftermath that will resonate for many many years.

You did, but not in any detail. Remember "From the halls of Montezuma, to the shores of Tripoli?" Tripoli was because of Muslim piracy in the Mediterranean, which was state supported.

The song we knew....the hisrory of the Places In the song werent brought up. It wasn’t until America was attacked in 2001...that I knew what the mention of Tripoli was about...
