Maybe, for some of you, it’s a presumed mutual appreciation for Beyoncé and weaves that has you thinking that I’m going to be amused by you approaching me in your best “Shanequa from around the way” voice. I don’t know. What I do know is that I don’t care how well you can quote Madea, who told you that your booty was getting bigger than hers, how cute you think it is to call yourself a strong black woman, who taught you to twerk, how funny you think it is to call yourself Quita or Keisha or for which black male you’ve been bottoming — you are not a black woman, and you do not get to claim either blackness or womanhood. Hell, most of those things are caused by black people themselves. They don’t feel safe? I guarantee it’s not because of white people shooting up their neighborhood. Black schools and neighborhoods look like warzones? It’s not for lack of funding, it’s because black people destroyed them. Tired of hearing their race “put on trial”? Well, it’s their own race that commits the crimes for which others are trying to put them on trial.
The only thing she might be able to blame on whites is that police are harder on blacks than on whites, but when most of the crime is committed by blacks, that’s pretty much their own fault too.

What is blackness?
I've been reading these kinds of screeds for fifty years. Certain blacks are upset that some white people imitate black music. Back in the old days, some blacks were upset that white musicians recorded music by black musicians.
For instance, a number of black musicians and afficianadoes were upset by whites who played jazz or blues. When the Beatles recorded a few songs by black musicians, some blacks accused the Beatles of "stealing" black music. As if The Beatles wouldn't have become famous if they hadn't recorded "Twist And Shout" by the Isley Brothers.
Some whites agreed and stated because of racism and slavery, whites should not play black music. Of course, whites were more than welcome to buy black music, and they didn't ask black musicians to stop playing white music....which many blacks did in those days. It was all hypocrisy and just as trivial and ultimately meaningless as this rant by this ignorant person.
It all comes down to the fact that a number of blacks are permanently angry. Nothing will make them happy. But they certainly don't mind enjoying the benefits of living in a country created by mostly white people as opposed to going back to the motherland and all its glories.
