Robert Redford has signed on to play Dan Rather in Truth, a film based on the 2005 memoir Truth and Duty: The Press, the President, and the Privilege of Power.
The book, written by Rather's producer Mary Mapes, centers on the firestorm that erupted in September of 2004 after Rather reported that George W. Because it makes the story look more retarded is the only thing I can guess. I think he claimed that fingerprints could be lifted from the originals and he wanted to protect the “anonymous sources” by copying and burning the originals. How convenient.
I always ask that if he was a journalism professor and a student gave that shaky story to him as a basis of their assignment, what kind of grade would he give them?
