Conservative donors fueling the civil war within the Republican Party are showing no signs of surrender, despite recent losses in primaries and mounting criticism that the groups to which they are giving might damage the GOP’s prospects at winning control of the Senate.
The top conservative groups — Club for Growth and Senate Conservatives Fund — have spent more than $10 million on ads and direct contributions to endorsed candidates in 2014 so far, but they’ve won only in races where establishment groups were largely on the sidelines or supported the same candidate.
Donors funding these outside groups aren’t demanding their money back or questioning how it was spent, even after Sen. Thad Cochran eked out a win in Mississippi’s GOP runoff, which had widely been seen as the best opportunity for tea party groups to defeat the establishment this year. In fact, those donors are willing to give even more.
Senate Conservatives Fund is still collecting contributions for a legal fund for Chris McDaniel, whom Cochran defeated — the latest indication that the money backing the conservative insurgency is unlikely to dry up anytime soon.
Donors rejected the idea that ensuring a Republican majority in the Senate was more important than which Republicans made it through the primaries, saying in interviews that they will continue writing checks in hopes of eventually electing more staunch conservatives and libertarians focused on reducing the size of government.

But they are not going away and the money is still flowing in. Meanwhile, Establishment coffers have been drained by the primaries, and they still have November before them.
These are battles in a war. One election at a time, one election cycle at a time.
Indeed, merely one battle at a time. Interestingly enough, the Continental Army lost almost every single battle…..but they did eventually win the war. We cannot get too down after certain disappointments.
Why doesn’t the Establishment love these groups? I mean, they provide the perfect excuse and group to blame when their apology candidates lose.
I got a call last week end from the NRC asking for money. We got into a heated exchange when I mentioned Mississippi and told them to take me off their call list.
And I got the impression that they have heard a lot a backlash, because the script they read was trying to be pre-emptive.
There is a lot of that going around. I thought that the RNC calls had finally ceased but recently they resumed.
After a tirade, I advise that my contributions go directly candidates I chose and to Jim Demint at the Heritage
I’m almost inclined to give the NRSC five bucks so I can get on their call list....just so that they will call me, and I can rake them over the coals and then say, “take me off your list!”.
Then I can wait a few months and do it again.
Which is to say, the only reason to be part of these groups is so that you can leave them in disgust....
True...the Continental Army did lose more battles, but we won... the Tea Party will win the war with the RINOs.
Count me in as one of those conservatives staying the course. I’m grateful my congressman has common sense and Judeo Christian values. Now the bent of the senators (one dem and one republican in sheep’s clothing) is different story.
yep, and for many of the same reasons too. We are right, they are wrong. And in the end, there are more of us than there are of them.

Not irony, and not exactly correct.
The GOPc, as you call it, wants to SHRINK the existing power of the existing power structure….and it just seems like the only way to do that is to replace it. But power is corrupting, and your point indicates why a third party is a red herring. People are people and power is power. We can’t change that. The best we can hope to do is weaken and decentralize. Which is what the real TP movement was about from the beginning….with all due respect to certain niches that have sprung up.

yep, and where would be anyone to send Obama a “map” to the border like Ted Cruz did…or file a resolution to have the Sgt at Arms arrest the wicked witch of the Lerner….as Steve Stockman did.
