David Brooks: Obama 'Impeachment Is Obviously Cloud Cuckoo Land'
Breitbart TV ^ | July 11, 2014 | Jeff Poor

Posted on 07/12/2014 12:10:35 PM PDT by EveningStar

On Friday's broadcast of PBS's "NewsHour" New York Times columnist David Brooks and Creators Syndicate columnist Mark Shields took on the House Speaker John Boehner's lawsuit against the Obama administration, which alleges oversteps in executive authority by the Obama White House.

Both acknowledged Boehner's gripe with the Obama administration had merit, but were skeptical of the lawsuit's chances. However, they both also took on the alternative offered by former Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK), which was to impeach President Barack Obama.

Both dismissed that course of action as well, with Brooks calling it "cloud cuckoo land."

“New York Times columnist David Brooks”

-

In other words, partisan hack.

They’re spinning like crazy. Palin just started the discussion, but it’s started.

If anyone could find Cloud Cuckoo Land, it would be someone from PBS. Just hit “go home” on the GPS.

Cringing is exactly correct. Sarah did not just decide to launch the word impeachment into the national media on a whim as a spur of the moment quip.

She saw it coming with Obama’s warning to Congress that he will bypass them and then orchestrating the movement of hundreds of thousands and growing numbers of illegals into the USA.

And these numbers are just getting started and the buzz about impeachment is just getting started.

Come November we will see how bad this end run around Congress worked out.

Exactly.

Palin probably knows there is no chance of impeachment happening, but the fact is that she put it out there because it needs to be seen as a real option. The GOP establishment dropped bricks in their pants, of course. The media was startled by the comment.

Maybe that was the real purpose. They keep saying she is irrelevant and she keeps showing them she isn’t. If she were irrelevant none of these articles would be happening and politicians wouldn’t feel they have to respond to it either.

They know. We know. She is not irrelevant.

By the time all is said and done, the Democrats will be begging the Republicans to impeach Obama before he destroys the Democrat Party for a generation.

The Republicans will not impeach and will simply let the American people live with the consequences of electing Obama.

Unfortunately we may soon find out. We are about due for a new scandal to take the coverage of the latest immigration scandal off the front page. My guess would be a terror attack from ISIS on American soil. That would rally the Islamist to the ISIS sphere. And they have stated attacking America has to be done before they can attack Israel.

The benefit of an impeachment would be the airing/disclosure of Obama’s high crimes.

Since the old media are complicit in the cover-up, articles of impeachment rather than a nonexistent news record will serve as a permanent historical feature of His presidency.

And, if we should not recover our freedoms, if we should continue our head first dive into despotism, history will record that the people of the United States made one last effort to save their republic.

You’re right, it’s almost as if he wants to be impeached.

Every slick poseur I ever worked with moved on before the job was finished, so they wouldn’t get caught. Obama is the same person, but he’s in a pickle: he can’t just take another job, yet he can’t possibly sustain this off-the-rails administration for another 2-1/2 years. Therefore his only way out is impeachment or resignation.

Or, as my buddy surmises, they’ll come up with some kind of medical reason for him to step down (physical or mental).

Recently stumbled upon a PBS television program from the mid '80s with Milton Friedman on YouTube which featured a young David Brooks. Young Brooks, described as a Social Democrat, was just as misguided then as he is now. Friedman schools young Brooks.

Mark Shields is still around? I think he pretty much invented the term "chickenhawk" back in the '80s. I bet he can't stand Brooks!

Cloud Cuckoo Land?

Unfortunately only in today’s Liberal controlled world. Just reverse the roles and parties, if Sarah Palin, or any other conservative, was doing the things Obama was doing s/he would not only have been impeached but would now be residing in a cell in Leavenworth.

But that’s not how it is, Mr. Obama because of his party, his skin color and his far left politics is immune to the remedy the constitution allows for actions such as his.

David Brooks is a known asshole.

From: http://hotair.com/archives/2009/08/31/the-obligatory-david-brooks-really-impressed-with-obamas-pants-post/

That first encounter is still vivid in Brooks’s mind. “I remember distinctly an image of–we were sitting on his couches, and I was looking at his pant leg and his perfectly creased pant,” Brooks says, “and I’m thinking, a) he’s going to be president and b) he’ll be a very good president.” In the fall of 2006, two days after Obama’s The Audacity of Hope hit bookstores, Brooks published a glowing Times column. The headline was “Run, Barack, Run.”…

But impeachment was the only serious solution for Nixon.

Can anyone get quotes from liberal dinosaurs about Nixon’s unforgivable crimes. And can anyone find even one article calling impeachment frivolous or ridiculous.

Finally, how many Republicans joined in on the call to impeach.

How can these two-faced bigots ever call anyone a hypocrite?

Agreed....You now have every left wing (and all the Rino’s) dissing and stating how wrong she is, or that she was yesterday’s news....And yet we’re reading about it today, and yesterday and the day before ect.....

The liberal republican, who does not know why he is a republican, cannot name one major issue where they can provide a contrast from democrats, has no core principles or ideals. Such a one is in "cloud cuckoo land", and Brooks is in the forefront. The NYT loves their pet pretend repub.
