Militarize Our Border? O'Reilly, Here's Your Plan
americanthinker.com ^ | 7/13/2014 | Russ Vaughn

Bill O’Reilly almost nightly calls for the militarization of our southern border, but he never has any guests to explain how this could be done. So, Bill, since I agree with you, here is a rudimentary plan worked out by someone with a working knowledge of both our military capabilities and the geographical area in question. Mind you, I have no information regarding military training budgets, but as we withdraw from large-scale overseas operations, our leadership should consider applying funds no longer needed for those to the mission of defending our currently defenseless southern border.

My understanding is that this problem is in the Rio Grande Valley. It’s not across the whole border. That means Obama needs to mobilize the assets of the federal government to deal with this “invasion” in this one area.
The federal government has a tremendous number of employees. It has a tremendous number of law enforcement employees. Our VA hospital has federal law enforcement. Our Social Security office has federal law enforcement. How many US Marshall’s and deputies do we have?
Obama is incompetent, but he already has the resources to solve this. He just isn’t using them.

What I don’t get is why Fox decided to hire Howard Kurtz as he is an all out liberal but I guess they think he is fair and balanced? I just heard him using the liberal tactic of calling the illegal cockroaches “unaccompanied minors”. Pretty sad when the only network that is supposed to be fair and balanced using liberal-speak terminology

What doesn’t make sense from the idiocy of the so-called Republicans is, if they go along with amnesty, who do they think will ever vote for them, or do they not even care about losing their own jobs?

First there must be agreement on the objective before potential solutions can be evaluated.

MY “Objectives” are:

Have a secure border and manage an effective LEGAL immigration system.

The solutions for achieving those objectives are very straight forward and start with a fence.

Obama’s objectives are:
The destruction of America through excessive financial burden and an eternally dependent voter base.

So, his solution is to undermine all existing laws and enable the illegal immigration to the maximum extent possible.

You and I both took that oath many years ago to defend this nation against ALL enemies, foreign and domestic. It did not, and still doesn’t, specify that the enemy must be military.

The Army fought indians (domestic) and was ready in 1914 to repel the Mexican Army at the border. The only thing they can’t do is civilian law enforcement. People bringing up the Posse Comitatus Act don’t know what they’re talking about.

What exactly would YOU have the guard to do?
Stop the Feds from taking the illegals into custody?
shoot the feds or illegals?

The problem is not how to solve the problem. The problem is the deliberate creation of what looks like a problem but is actually a planned invasion. So the problem is the planners and that plan. Until that is solved, any other “solutions” to “problems” will be rapidly thwarted.

’ troops in plain sight make it difficult for folks to cross a border.”
Pay attention. the illegals are running TO authorities.

so let’s say illegals run up to guardsmen> then what? do you think the guardsmen can force them back into mexico?
How?

Sadly that vile piece of crap odumbo knows no Gov,.not Perry or Brewer or Martinez can send their NG and have any authority to do anything.

perhaps you can explain which Texas ( or any state) law supersedes federal law??

A gov can send in the NG for emergencies and this would qualify
BUT
what do you think a NG could do?
Physically force illegals back across?
how? tackle them and push them into the river?

Point a gun at them ?
what?

Wouldn’t make a huge difference with the current “children’s crusade” assault on our border. What’s the NG going to do, shoot the kids? No, and those who surrendered to them would be passed on to the BP and processed as they are now.

We need a freakin’ WALL, and we need it NOW!

Perhaps there are some scraps in Berlin. I saw it in 1962 right after they started putting it up. Kinda intimidating from the eastern side with the “guard” towers and all. We went on an “accompanied” tour in to the eastern sector through CheckPoint Charlie. Very few cars, very depressing, LOTS of WW II rubble still piled up. And this was 17 years after the end of the war. Commies. Ya gotta NOT love ‘em.

They don't have a single field correspondent that is conservative as far as I can tell.
