Republicans and even some Democrats have accused Obama of being insufficiently engaged in a calamity that many say he should have seen coming.
As far back as May 2012, Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) warned Obama in a letter that there is a surge of unaccompanied illegal minors entering the United States. Apart from being part of an obvious humanitarian crisis, these unaccompanied illegal minors have left the federal government scrambling to triage the results of its failed border security and immigration policies.
In June 2012, Obama issued an executive order that those who met certain requirements be allowed to remain in the country and to work.

Obama can't say he wasn't warned.
That would smack if the useless "children's crusade."
I believe the assumption is wrong. Let’s say he DID know what would happen, he DOES know what is happening, and his CHOSEN RESPONSE is to ignore it. This will correct the lens somewhat. Now what?
"UNACCOMPANIED" children? No.

Hanson ponders the reasons why, even though Mexico (ironically) has much tougher immigration policies than does the United States, the deluge trekked up through Mexico cartel territory and were not turned away at Mexico's southern border?
Hanson postulates that Mexico passed them on because there was a sub rosa plan to get them over the border into the United States.
<><> What was the mechanics of the deal?
<><> Why did Central American governments empty their village of vulnerable youth without taking any responsibility for their well-being?
The sheer numbers traveling thousands of miles through savage drug cartel territory raises suspicions WRT:
<><> callous parents sending children as pawns northward without escort;
<><> parents prolly given guarantees of free passage and eventual citizenship for themselves,
<><> parents making deals to send back remittances once they boarded the lucrative US gravy train,
<><> parents willingly sending children,
<><> or were parents pressured to put their children at risk cash payments?
The scenario is shocking:
<><> hundreds of thousands of parents acting in concert.
<><> roguish and callous parents willingly let children ride the roofs of speeding trains,
<><> young children seized by Central Amrican govt authorities.

Assuming that the kids were indeed sent ahead of their parents to be tools for their own immigration to the US, what tracking mechanisms (if any) were put in place so that these parents could eventually find their children? The entire procedure seems so hodge-podge (the possibility of a reunion seems implausible.

This is de facto abandonment of children by their parents....AND/OR the seizure of the children by corrupt Central American officials.
Where are the tolerant and compassionate lib/progs?
There’s a lot of yelling that Perry/Texas should “do something” about the border.
I’m SURE that everyone doing the hollering understands the border.
I’m SURE that they understand that the Texas/Mexico border is 1241 miles long...2.5 - 3 times as long as California, Arizona and New Mexico COMBINED.
I’m SURE that they understand that the Texas/Mexico border is longer that it is from New York City to Topeka, Kansas...or from Jacksonville, Florida to Midland, TX.
I’m SURE that they understand the Santa Elena canyon...where 75 yards separates Texas and Mexico and where 1500’ cliffs are on the opposite sides of the Rio Grande. The Rio Grande that you could wade without getting your knees wet most of the year.
I’m SURE they’ve been there and seen the Chihuahuan Desert and understand the futility of fencing it.
I’m SURE their states have offered Texas some of their own funds and manpower to help seal the border.
I’m SURE they’ve read up and studied on the increased DPS/Texas Ranger presence ordered to the border by Perry/Texas.
I’m SURE they’ve viewed the videos about the air and water equipment on the Texas border....paid for by Texans.
Know what? I’m getting a little tired of people who haven’t been here, haven’t lived here and don’t know anything but what they read/believe casting aspersions on Texans about what we SHOULD be doing, NEED to do, etc.
Before they do that, why don’t they quit their jobs and drive their cute little asses down here and do their part?
Or demonstrate how THEIR state has contributed to the protection of our NATIONAL border?
Or maybe, just maybe, act a little thankful for what Texas taxpayers ARE doing to try to stem the tide...sans Washington, DC.
Maybe that.
