The Hill: Immigration Reform a Loser for Democrats in 2014 (has the tide turned?)
breitbart.com ^ | 7/13/14 | William Bigelow

The Hill reports that using immigration reform as a 2014 campaign issue has become a dead end for Democrats, who are avoiding the subject as they run for Congress.

Part of the problem for Democrats is that the very group most vitally interested in the issue, the Latino population, will likely have little impact on the specific races that are critical, with the exception of Mark Udall’s senatorial race in Colorado.

The group most likely to swing the various elections, according to The Hill, is white working-class voters, who are more interested in the plunge in wages that has resulted from higher immigration. This is reflected in Barack Obama’s dwindling support among white voters without college degrees.

Steve Jarding, a Democratic strategist and former advisor to several senators, complained:

In light of turnout models it’s probably not as strong an issue as it would be in presidential years. I still think Democrats have fumbled this issue because they allow the issue to be played on Republican terms. Republicans are trying to suggest immigration is the reason wages are suppressed and it’s a racial issue. I don’t like it. That’s what they’re doing cynically. They’re saying when you get immigration, you suppress the wages of non-immigrants, i.e. white people.

A Rasmussen poll revealed working and middle-class Americans stand against increased immigration; 75% of those earning under $30,000 want it decreased. And a Pew Research Poll echoed that finding, showing 69 percent of Americans think the federal government should work harder to restrict and control people emigrating to the U.S.

Somebody is finally waking up it seems.

IMHO, being half Latina, the Hispanic population won't vote for the following reasons.

1. They believe that all elections are fixed so they think it's a waste of time.

2. Their interests lie with family and jobs, first and last.

3. If they are foreigners, they really care about their home country, not about the U.S.A.

4. If they do vote they will vote as their local Hispanic jefe suggests that they vote.

MY TWO CENTS.

I can’t imagine that legal immigrants-US citizens- would support this mass invasion of illegals. It’s so unfair to them. Where are they? Why aren’t they speaking out?

Actually, blue-collar black workers suffer the most when illegal labor is widely used.

The problem is that the border is still wide open and the Chamber of Commies are getting all the illegals they want.

The American people are being played for fools again. Every 2 years, amnesty becomes an issue and border security is simply forgotten.

Exactly, this is a form of non-legislative amnesty and both parties are loving it.

Our government is becoming completely lawless as well as our society. The cracks are spreading.

Our only hope is for more and more people to be directly affected by this and thus waking them up.

I don't think it has anything to do with having a degree or how much you earn. People know the facts because they see it in their lives every F**king day. I'll bet the numbers are much greater than that BTW.

Because of where we live in California, we have many latino/Hispanic friends. They mostly despise illegal aliens but will still vote Democrat every time.
They are like blacks......on the plantation.

I'm half as well, and I've never understood this.

Interesting. I don’t think they see a correlation between their vote and what’s going on.

Its not that. They just can never even perceive the idea of voting for a Republican. I have cousins in Arkansas and Oklahoma the same way. They are all old school Democrats but still won’t vote for a Republican. They even claim to be Christians but vote for the party of abortion.
I don’t get it either.

The most important news is that African-Americans on turning against Obama because of his stand on immigration, which hurts them and other low income Americans across the board!!! The Democrat Party is not reading the true tea leaves, relative to the impact of uncontrolled immigration. Obama continues in his quest to destroy the USA!!! Broom Obama, Democrats...or go down with him!!! Give Obama nothing, not one cent...unless it goes to protecting the USA borders from illegal immigrants!!!

We've got to speak loud and clear. Illegals will continue to come regardless of our immigration laws because our border is wide open and the world knows it.

Ignore the agit-prop for the so-called "latino vote." The vote has never been more than a nothing 10% and will remain at that level for the forseeable future.

Democrats barely mention immigration reform on the campaign trail despite making the issue their top domestic priority in 2013 and 2014. Dummycrats simply cannot afford another lock-stepping issue...they's till hurting from marching smartly---heels clicking-- behind der leader on Obamacare---which turned out to be a blunder of Ceausescuian proportions.

Oh, sure There's the usual looney-tune suckups like Pelosi and the airhead lollipop licker from Texas----and ambitious Guttierez who has plans for himself w/ the engorged latino vote.

=========================================

Latinos are salivating for power---they have no other aspirations than to ride the US gravy train, and confiscate our tax dollars to facilitate their armed conflict to takeback the SW.

The swarm at the border is bad news for power-mad latinos. Luis Guttierez went ballistic on broadcast news---he knows the power he desperately wants is slipping from his greedy paws.

THIS MUST BE DONE NOW:

CONTACT FBI TIPS PAGE---https://tips.fbi.gov

<><> Taxpayers demand L/E subpoena Congressional Hispanic Caucus official filings, phone records, emails, snail mail copies, hard drives, bank accounts, checking accounts, credit cards, debit cards, wire transfers, social media contacts, and the like.

<><> TAXPAYERS demand to know who they're communicating with, and who is directing their activities.

<><> Taxpayers demand to know if C/H/C members belong to violent latino organizations advocating the overthrow of the US govt.

Obama said Republicans in Congress were never satisfied and mocked that they will want a “higher fence” and then “a moat,” and then “alligators in the moat.”

I know people the same way - they claim to be Christian - yet continue to vote for the party of abortion and all abominations that are mentioned in the Bible. I guess they don’t believe that they will one day give an account for how they voted and who they voted for. Not true. They depend upon the government and not God to meet their needs. So, in a sense, they have another God - what part of thou shall have no other gods before me do they not understand?
