In other news, the Church of England has also agreed to allow pagans to ritually sacrifice their children on the altars of Anglican cathedrals as part of their worship just as long as they clean off the blood afterward. The British government is also fine with this since the sacrifices constitute very, very late term abortions and will lower the burden on the National Health Service.

. . . ending half a century of wrangling . . .

Lesson: the only way to end any round of wrangling with leftists is to give in to them. Case in point: gay marriage.

They are a puppet of the state, which had essentially threatened to make the decision for them if they failed to pass it. These are men of no faith and no allegiance to God. They want a paycheck.

There was a quote of approval from Lib-Dem leader Nick Clegg. The article leaves out is Clegg is a avowed atheist.

There is precedent for women in leadership positions in the early church. See:

Romans 16 King James Version (KJV) 16 I commend unto you Phoebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: 2 That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also. 3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: 4 Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. 5 Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my well-beloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ. 6 Greet Mary, who bestowed much labour on us. 7 Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellow-prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me. 8 Greet Amplias my beloved in the Lord. 9 Salute Urbane, our helper in Christ, and Stachys my beloved. 10 Salute Apelles approved in Christ. Salute them which are of Aristobulus' household. 11 Salute Herodion my kinsman. Greet them that be of the household of Narcissus, which are in the Lord. 12 Salute Tryphena and Tryphosa, who labour in the Lord. Salute the beloved Persis, which laboured much in the Lord. 13 Salute Rufus chosen in the Lord, and his mother and mine. 14 Salute Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermas, Patrobas, Hermes, and the brethren which are with them. 15 Salute Philologus, and Julia, Nereus, and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints which are with them. 16 Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you. 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. 19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. 20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. 21 Timotheus my workfellow, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you. 22 I Tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in the Lord. 23 Gaius mine host, and of the whole church, saluteth you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city saluteth you, and Quartus a brother. 24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. 25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, 26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: 27 To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen. King James Version (KJV) by Public Domain

Those are positions of service, not leadership. In any case, the office of deaconess that existed in the early Church was never an ordained ministry. These women mentioned by Paul are the first of the company of consecrated widows and virgins, the predecessors of today’s religious sisters and nuns.

Furthermore, no woman can be a bishop because no woman can be a priest.

1 Timothy 2:12 "I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man"

Paul most likely did not write this letter, so that in and of itself negates its value as being binding eternally on the church. It also contradicts what is authentically Paul in Galatians, 3:28: "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus".

Furthermore, no woman can be a bishop because no woman can be a priest.

And why is that? Because 1st Timothy, which was not written by Paul, says so? See: http://www.earlychristianwritings.com/1timothy.html.

Although it is interesting 1 Timothy presupposes married bishops, priests, and deacons ("husband of one wife"), which goes against the Roman Catholic rule that priests may not marry.

A good way to negate any scripture that one may disagree with.

I'm in the PCA. The PCA broke from the Presbyterian-USA denomination because they had denied the Authority and Inerrancy of Scripture.

That was in 1973 when they were using Tithe moneys for transporting girls across state lines for abortions and giving our tithes to the Sandinista Rebels in Central America.

Now, due to further negation of Scripture, the Homosexual marriages are coming to the PCUSA.

The Episcopal church did the same and ordained a woman bishop who immediately promoted the Goddess Gaia and was superseded by Homosexual Bishop.

Be very careful with Scripture. God has a special way of guarding it - something to do with Reprobation.

No woman can be a priest because all true priests exercise the priesthood of Jesus the bridegroom. A woman cannot be a bridegroom.

And is there any point in the Gospels where Jesus said that the Holy Eucharist could only be celebrated by men? He said "Do this in *remembrance* of me," not "Do this while thinking that you *are* me."

Show me in the Bible where it says that Christians should practice and believe only what is explicitly specified in Scripture. Show me where it says that Christians should disregard the oral teaching of the apostles. While you’re at it, show me in the Bible where it says what books are in the Bible in the first place. Go on, show me.
