Arab Cleric: Israel Defends Us from Hamas Missiles

The Mukhtar (Islamic religious leader) of a Jerusalem neighborhood praises Israel for defending Arabs.

The Mukhtar (Islamic religious leader) of the Jerusalem neighborhood of Sur Baher on Monday praised Israel for defending the city – and particularly the Al-Aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount – from Hamas rockets.

Just days after wide-scale riots by Jerusalem Arabs over the murder of Arab youth Mohammed Al-Khedr, Zuheir Hamadan said that Hamas, which claimed to be “defending” the Arabs of Jerusalem, was doing quite the opposite.

“Israel is the one defending Al-Aqsa from the missiles of Hamas,” Hamadan said. Speaking to Israel Radio's Arabic service, Hamadan said that Hamas' seemingly careless firing of missiles endangered Arab holy places, as well as Arabs, who live and work in all parts of the country.

Israel is committed by "its own law" to protect all religious rights of all groups and to protect all religious shrines and buildings. "That" however does not mean the protection of terrorists like Hamas, so while Israel protects those of all faiths in Jerusalem, it does go after terrorists like Hamas in Gaza.

I have pretty much accepted that over the years, but I have to tell you my patience with these people wears very thin.

Most of this could be stopped in mere months, if these folks grew a spine and let it be known what is taking place is dead wrong.

Instead the carnage continues in the name of the religion these folks profess to reverence.

Egyptians are also being vocal — in public — about how happy they are the IDF is going after Hamas.

The entire Muslim Brotherhood fiasco has really helped reveal how Israel is not the bad guy.
