A federal officer attempting to break up an altercation during a pro-Israel demonstration Sunday at the federal building in Westwood fired a single shot but no one was harmed, Los Angeles County sheriff's officials said..
The rally, which drew some 500 people, was breaking up about 5:45 p.m. when Israel supporters and pro-Palestinian protesters began to clash, said sheriff's Deputy Juanita Navarro.
An officer with the Department of Homeland Security sought to intervene and fired his weapon once, Navarro said.

(PS: what the hell are federal agents doing on the streets of America performing their ideas of basic police services? Doesn’t Los Angeles have its own local police department? Think about this...This particular federal agent may be a wondeful person and may be doing wonderful things, but these are still our local communities .. do we want a federal police force like O threatened us with during his campaign?)

The protests were at the federal building. My guess is this “Homeland Security” agent was an overtitled security guard.

(are the building guards inside fed buildings now part of DHS too? seems everyone on the federal payroll is being issued weapons and reassigned into DHS or under DHS control? Hopefully this is just paranoia!)
