The salvation story of the writer of “Amazing Grace” is really nothing short of truly amazing.
I found a good website called answersingenesis.com. It helps answer a lot of questions these people ask.
I start from this premise:
God is Truth, Truth is God
The fact is all have a god..
They may not have a deity ..but all have a god...
There are atheist that while not believing in a deity have truth as their god..
So they are on the path to God but have not found this truth yet.
Its the atheist that have their self as their God that are lost....
The thing is I think most self professed atheist are not atheist because they seek truth..
I think most self professed atheist just can not stand having any other God/Deity other then themselves..
In fact because they have self as deity.. are they even good atheist?
News flash: most atheists, like myself, don’t go around trying to talk other people out of their faith, or belittling them for it. We may get a little upset when some pious person insists on trying to talk us out of our lack of faith, though.
Speaking of arrogance and condescension, though, there’s more than a whiff of it in your (and others’) post.
More condescension. You’re making assumptions and generalizations about other people’s beliefs (or lack thereof). You don’t know them or what is in their heart.
All the wars and genocides have been the work of the godless atheists with the exception of the Muslim invaders and we are seeing once again.
Christians don’t want more earthly territory or power over people and regions, they want God in their lives.
Atheism is the largest religion in the world. It is a belief system just like any other belief system.
This claim that Christians are forcing their beliefs on others is mostly nonsense, it is atheism often referred to as secularism that is forced on us all everyday by govt institution, media, schools and courts. Atheists think their’s is the default belief system. Their phrase “we live in a secular society” says it all. No we live in a society of many different beliefs and this country was founded on Christian principles ...and we will each decide how and what our children will be taught. My family will be default to your godless beliefs ever.
Atheism/secularism/humanism...
all have one conclusion. Government becomes “god” in that it is the source of rights, and therefore has the authority to restrict or eliminate those rights. Ultimately, it has the “legitimate” authority to eliminate those who resist or disagree.
This is proven over and over again, historically.

The real problem is that WE DON'T LISTEN. Especially when it's 'no'.

It is 'we', by our choices, that make up the random component of life on Earth. Everything else has purpose and order.
The problem is that the human mind doesn't like anyone else deciding what is 'best' for it.

When it comes to answering prayer, it is either yes, no, or wait.
It has been my experience that atheists generally believe in some kind of Intelligent Creator of the Universe. They just don’t believe in the ‘god’ described in various religious texts, and the associated religious practices. Especially since each religion declares their ‘god’ the only true one, and their ‘practices’ the only ‘way’.
