The White House is asking Rep. Darrell Issa to withdraw a subpoena of a senior adviser to President Barack Obama and is offering instead to a hold a private briefing on activities in the administration’s political affairs office. In a letter sent Monday, White House Counsel W. Neil Eggleston offered to brief Issa, a California Republican who chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, on the role of the the Office of Political Strategy and Outreach on Tuesday. That’s one day before the office’s director, David Simas, is under subpoena to testify on potential violations of the Hatch Act.

In other words, the White House wants to change the optics from advisors testifying before Congress, to Congress subordinating themselves in a White house office.
Move the home field advantage away from Congress and to the White House.
Stupid move if Issa goes for it.

No White House briefing. Send in a detachment of Marines for the old boy Obama is trying to hide. Wipe out the corrupt Secret Service blathers if they break away from their booze and naked women and try to stop the Marines.
I am paraphrasing but towards the end of the article, spokesman for Issa says as long as the briefing answers our questions all is forgiven, basically. Couple of lines before it says there is no chance it will be withdrawn.
Issa talks rough. WH says ok let’s do b instead of a. Issa folds. I see a pattern here.

Issa is a fool who thinks he can catch a bit of light from obamas halo.
If the US Congress is a co-equal branch of Government, then the Administration is not “more equal” than Congress.
If, however, Issa allows his subpoena to not be honored, then the Administration is above Congress, and the Administration is above the Laws derived from the Constitution of the United States of America.
Will Issa fold like a cheap suit?
