Ted Cruz Suspends Work to Help Elect Republican Senators, Inadvertently Helps Democrats
burntorangereport.com ^ | 7/15/14 | Joseph Vogas

Texans know Ted Cruz has a tendency to not play nice with others. There was a hope among establishment Republicans the Junior Senator form Texas was going to start acting as more of a team player in Washington and with the larger Republican Party when he accepted the role of vice chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC). The NRSC is the official arm of Senate Republicans designed to elect Republicans to the US Senate. Cruz served without controversy in his leadership position for several months until incumbent Senator Thad Cochran of Mississippi was pushed into a runoff with TEA Party fueled challenger, State Sen. Chris McDaniel. Cruz, who is a product of a TEA Party uprising in Texas, had a natural inclination to make sure McDaniel was at least on equal footing with the long-time incumbent.

But after Cochran's victory with an assist from the NRSC, Ted Cruz is causing problems with his fellow Senators; problems which may, again, cost Republicans a chance at control of the US Senate in November. After the jump, learn what new problems Ted Cruz is causing for the Republican Party in the name "true conservatism" now.

Don’t let a distractor or two stop you, for most of us it only takes a sentence or so to know what kind of publication this came from.

“Don’t let a distractor or two stop you, for most of us it only takes a sentence or so to know what kind of publication this came from.”

Right, but then the question needs to be asked, if this is a leftist or progressive publication, why are they worrying about the NRSC and about the republicans not taking the senate? Because the NRSC is an Establishment tool used to reelect and protect those that advance liberalism and thwart and prevent the election of those that advance conservatism.

I’ve known this for some time and want to make as many others aware of it as possible.

The question you asked is dead on, which is why I think seeing the articles on FR is important.

Well, the question needs to be asked, then, why would a progressive publication be worried that the NRSC is losing funding or influence? And I believe the answer is that they are worried about losing one of their tools that elects and protects moderate senators...because moderate senators vote with democrats.

Arlen Specter, Charlie Crist, Lincoln Chafee, who the NRSC supported became democrats. Jim Jeffords, John Warner, and Richard Lugar, who the NRSC supported assisted democrats.

Reagan's two landslides mean nothing to the Rockefeller Establishment types.

It is the backstabbing by people like John Cornyn who may cost the GOP a Senate Majority.

First things first. It would be nice to get the Senate this year, but purging RINO’s is actually a higher priority. Getting the senate with a bunch of McCains and McConnels is no victory.

True except the entire Republican Senate is not all RINOs. I fear we're tossing the baby out with the bath water. If a Republican is not our dream candidate but conservative enough to help stop the Democrat agenda, then yes we need them.

Stop McCain, McConnell, Graham any way we can for sure but don't poison the entire party or there will be no 2016 election to worry about.

Yes. I’ll be voting for the most viable candidate against McConnel this November. For the first time in my life since 1972 I will be voting for the democrat.

A nice list of ridicule-worthy articles. What's the problem with posting something the other side writes in order to discuss its merits or lack thereof? I been around this board long enough to know that Cotton isn't endorsing this idea but introducing it for discussion. Isn't that the purpose of a discussion forum? When a pinko blog and the GOPe align against Cruz, doesn't that tell you something?

The Cruz detractors here act like rodents. They drag in crap from crappy sources and run away looking for more. It will get a lot uglier but they are never logical nor brave nor are their stories nor sources. You’ll never find truth in their little piles

Stand proud. Personally, nothing, no one, and no issue would ever make me vote for any Democrat at a time when they're dismantling the country.

But remember your vote when your Senator, Grimes I think, keeps rubber stamping all of Obama's agenda for the next two years. Remember that sweet taste of revenge when they get rid of your vote all together in the next two years.

Congrats on that!

Oh, and in case you try to interpret my post as a vote for McConnell, forget it. I say don’t vote at all or vote them out in the primary. But if you can’t win there, it doesn’t justify voting for the Dem.

Just so you know, I didn’t post this story to attack Cruz, I want people to be aware of what is going on. The Republican Establishment is upset that Cruz isn’t helping them fund their Anti-Conservative arm, that is the NRSC.

And the NRSC has helped democrats get elected by time and again putting forth worthless, bland, moderate, Establishment candidates. We hear all the time about Akin, O’Donnell, Angle, Buck, but they conveniently never mention Fiorina, Allen, Mack, Thompson, Berg, Rehberg, Wilson and Hoekstra.

And we’ll find out in November how many of their preferred candidates actually prevail.

Sorry, my mistake. I like it when people post articles from the loony tunes as these often lead to the most enjoyable discussions. It is more enjoyable when we all ridicule them rather than turn on each other.
