Republicans want the border protected as part of any deal

The dirty little secret is that Republicans don't need a deal to get the border protected. That is already a Constitutional imperative, one that Obama agreed to uphold while he was taking the Oath of Office. Were his fingers crossed when he said: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”?
