Gov. Rick Perry Says Texas May Soon Take Steps to Secure the Border — With or Without the Feds

Texas Governor Rick Perry (R) has been begging the federal government for years to secure America’s southern border. Now, as America faces what some are calling an “invasion” of illegal aliens, Perry said the time may come that Texas is forced to secure its roughly 1,200 mile border with Mexico with or without the federal government’s help.

“We’ve been able to shut down illegal activities in certain sectors with our different operations that we’ve had,” Perry said on The Glenn Beck Program Thursday. “But I think there’s a point in time where you say, ‘You know what? This 1,200 mile border has to be secured.’ And if there is a people and if there is a place that it can happen, it will be Texas.”

It should be done now by any means necessary.

Will the feds side with the illegals?

Should have been done weeks/months ago. I understood that the NG reported to the Governor, unless it was nationalized by the Prez. It would be very interesting if Obama nationalized them and told them to stand down. Total banana republic, obvious treason.

Border ping. Gov. Perry is methodically working on a plan for the Guard to fully secure the border. Some Guard already down there.

Exactly.

Why not get Boehner to sue the illegals?

That’s why I advocate for Perry to send the Texas State Guard, which cannot be nationalized. They are a separate entity from the Texas National Guard.

Texas has a State Guard that can't be nationalized.

Tell me more. Is that instead of the typical National Guard setup, or in addition to it? And if so, relative size?

It’s TOO LATE to do it in a hurry!

Should have been done long ago.

In addition to. I don't personally know the relative size. It is significant. Perry can call out the unorganized militia if he chooses, as well. I still have uniforms, and I'd even get a hair cut.

What do you think the Gov. intends to do? Currently the invaders are wading, swimming,
boating or however across the Rio Grande and walking up to Authorities and turning themselves
in. At that point they get into the deportation process which can take years.

Does the Gov. intend to meet them at the border, turn them around and tell them to cross
back over the Rio Grande? If he takes them in then they just get in line with the
current processing.

Basically once they cross the mid point of the Rio Grande they are in the US, state of Texas.
I’m not sure what Gov. Perry plans but if he can turn them around immediately that would
certainly be a different approach.

I’m sure it does seem like that to you, but you have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes. You don’t know that they’re discussing the legalities, working quietly with the Texas Legislature to allocate money, communicating with border county sheriffs to plan and prioritize ops. There is much you don’t know.

You see what you want.

Anyone who cares can research the Texas border ops we’ve been doing since 2007.
