Kremlin spy ‘The Demon’ believed to be one of the pro-Russian militants responsible for MH17

A KREMLIN spy known as “The Demon” is believed to be one of the pro-Russian militants responsible for bringing down Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17.

Ukrainian authorities identified Igor Bezler in a tapped phone conversation telling his Russian boss “we have just shot down a plane”.

In the phone conversation, Bezler told military intelligence co-ordinator Colonel Vasyl Mykolaiovych Geranin that his men had gone to search the smoking wreckage for the pilots.

But 40 minutes later, in another intercepted call between two men known as “The Major” and “The Greek”, the pro-Russian militants realised they had shot down a civilian airliner.

“In short, it was 100 per cent a passenger (civilian) aircraft,” The Major tells The Greek.

“The debris fell right into the yards (of homes).”

By that time another pro-Russian separatist leader and suspected Kremlin spy — whose name translates as “The Shooter” — had boasted on the Russian version of Facebook that they had shot down a Ukrainian military Antonov 26 aircraft.

Igor Strelkov, Defence Minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk Peoples’ Republic, posted: “The plane has just been taken down somewhere around Torez (Donetsk Oblast). It lays there behind the Progress mine. We did warn you — do not fly in our sky.

“And here is the video proving another ‘bird’ falling down. The bird went down behind the slag heap, not in the residential district. So no peaceful people injured.’’

The posts were quickly taken down once it became clear it was a civilian aircraft.

Other footage, apparently taken by the shooters, showed the plane coming down.

“That was a blast — look at the smoke!” one can be heard saying as black smoke rises from the crash site.

Separatist leader Aleksander Borodai immediately attempted to spin the blame onto the Ukrainian government.

“Apparently, it’s a passenger airliner indeed, truly shot down by the Ukrainian air force,” he told Russian state-run television.

The separatists have the firepower to shoot down an aircraft flying at high altitude.

Last month they claimed to have seized Russian-made truck-mounted Buk surface-to-air missile systems from Ukrainian forces. Posts bragging about the firepower were also removed.

Russian President Vladimir Putin blamed Ukrainian forces for the air disaster, but the two key players have both been identified by the Ukrainian authorities as having links with the Russian security forces.

Igor Bezler — “The Demon” — trained with the Russian military before serving on the Russian General Staff, GRU, and participated in the Crimean crisis. In April he was filmed identifying himself to police officers as “a lieutenant colonel in the Russian Army” during the rebel takeover of Horlivka.

Igor Strelkov is also a suspected Russian spy who has appeared in a string of hot spots across the region, including fighting for the Serbs in Bosnia and for the Russians in Chechnya and Yugoslavia.

The SBU claim that Bezler was acting under Strelkov’s orders when he abducted and murdered the town councillor, who was tortured and dumped in a river.

I guess they didn’t have any foldout aircraft ID charts handy. A sad day for ‘freedom’.

Bezler answers to Strelkov in name only....

They seem to have very different goals. While Strelkov is playing the big-picture game, Bezler is taking the fight directly to the Nazi and Kolomoisky irregular militias, even against Strelkov’s orders.

For instance, Bezler wouldn’t send more than token help into Slovyansk, though his forces were raiding around Kramatorsk.

Bezler is a natural-born Ukrainian, and moved back to Ukraine in 2002, where according to some reports, he owned a construction company.

They rarely coordinate, and both are competing for Russian assets and help. Bezler’s outfit has a big Social Media game, and they have been able to raise big money from individuals in Russia.

Currently, Bezler’s forces are the ones that encircled the trapped Ukrainian units in the south, and have been taking a beating from the air for it. Per reports, the Buk that was likely responsible for the shootdown was sent to help Bezler by giving him an AA umbrella.

The huge shelling of Lugansk today, killing 20+ civilians, is thought to be another Kiev attempt to divert resources away from the trapped units in the south.

According to BBC Luhansk has lost all electricity and running water. I don't think it's a diversion. Luhansk will soon fall and Donetsk will be encircled. Ukraine will soon be tightening the noose around KGB Putin's gang of mass-murdering terrorists. That's why Putin is now begging for a cease-fire, but if Poroshenko were to relent now, his own people would chase him out of Kiev.

1/3rd of the entire Ukrainian Army is being destroyed piecemeal in the south.

Lugansk is holding, it isn’t encircled, and has supply access, while the UK’s can do little except indiscriminate shelling.

Sorry, but that doesn’t sound at all like “tightening the noose”.

When you rely on false Russkie propaganda reports, then you will not have a good idea of what is really going on over there.

The savage inhuman Russkie terrorists will be exterminated like the cockroaches they are.

Putin’s GRU murderers will flee back to their “Rodina” like they fled Slaviansk.

No, you aren’t biased at all....
Sorry kid, but the facts on the ground just don’t support your OPINION.

Remember how you crowed Poroshenko’s line about this “Would all be over in hours!!”. Remind me, how many weeks ago was that, and how many dead Ukrainians since then?

I didn’t say any such thing.

You certainly didn’t predict the terrorists’ retreat from Slaviansk. You were too busy retweeting totally false Baghdad Bob style Russky propaganda.

I said several times I didn’t see the retreat from Slovyansk coming. I believed Strelkov’s “We will die here!” bs.

But I forgot the first rule of warfare:
“All warfare is based on deception” - Sun Tzu

And so did Kiev, obviously.
Which is why he was able to stage a 70 mile retreat through enemy-held country, blowing through enemy checkpoints that never knew he was coming, extracting 90% of his men, all of his vehicles, and most of his supplies from encirclement, and taking insignificant losses along the way, while inflicting heavy losses on the enemy.

That one will be studied in war colleges for the next couple of centuries.

Rebels said they left hours ago...

Only a “sabotage” group remained, and they were eliminating that. Aas of three hours ago, several of the rebel tweeters were claiming that “Only Kiev’s shelling remains in Lugansk.

Kiev is also claiming that one of the local separatist leaders, Alexey Sokolov, was killed.

I do love how Kiev just ignores the video evidence already out there today of 20-40 civilians being killed by UK shelling as “shot by rebels”, though.

Heavy fighting is being reported tonite in Alchevsk, Amvrosievka, Seversk. Kiev is attacking on the line Lisichansk-Rubezhnoye-Severodonetsk to divert the rebels from the South Pocket.

This was followed by an attack on Sverdlovsk, Djakovo and Marinovka, Kiev tanks moved from Artemivsk to Lysychansk.

It looks like they are trying to move into Lysychansk, where there are reports that Kiev used a surface-to-surface missile, an SS-21 Scarab-B to destroy the refinery, fired from Kramatorsk. (Poroshenko did “Warn” last week that he would soon start using “Special weapons”.)

The likely target is the Rebel group run by Mosgivney (sp??)

There are also reports of shooting and explosions in Slavyansk and Radakov, behind the Kiev lines.

The South Pocket is getting smaller, which likely explains today’s heavy attacks. Time is running out, and Kiev troops are already fleeing across the Russian Border.

VIDEO:
Destruction in Lugansk today after shelling by both heavy artillery and MLRS. Now 44+ Civilians reported killed.
