Former New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson, whose firing brought out nasty attacks and allegations of sexism at the Times, was interviewed by Greta van Susteren On the Record last night.
While she played close to the vest about the reasons for her firing, she didn’t hold back on the Obama administration, defending her earlier branding of it as “the most secretive” she has ever deal with since President Carter, and elaborated:
“I have never dealt with an administration where more officials—some of whom are actually paid to be the spokesmen for various federal agencies—demand that everything be off the record. So, that’s secretive and not transparent. But the most serious thing the Obama administration has [done is it’s] launched eight criminal leak investigations against sources and whistleblowers … And they have tried to sweep in journalists, including—it’s almost the one-year anniversary exactly that your colleague, James Rosen, had his record secretly looked at by the government in a leak investigation.” …

Typical liberal. To paraphrase another respondent on here, she got mad that after carrying blazing torches for the regime, she got burned; and she’s only among the first few.
So why do these so-called journalists wait until they are fired to tell the truth, why doesn’t Greta or anyone else ask that question?
Unfortunately I believe that Soros and other Hissein puppetmasters were fully prepared for that eventuality. The media became their willing lapdogs, destroyed what little credibiliry remained to them, and now have no defenders amongst Americans.

He must. On thread after thread he posts that same question over and over. While more people by the day see that Obama is in office because of the GOP, this staunch rock ribbed conservative seems to want more liberalism in his Republican party.

I saw this gal on Fox a few days ago. I have to say my impression of her was that I suspected she was a victim of a stroke. She was just a bit off and I don’t mean in the political sense where, of course, she is way off.
I read in the Wiki for her that she had a bad accident back in 2007. Could be she wasn’t the liberal that she once was and possibly wasn’t really up to the job after that.
A possibility.
And, Greta, please notice....Abramson didn't go too far in spilling her non-earthshaking tidbits. She has to be careful so that she can get another lucrative, gender-equal-opportunity CEO job at some liberal, Obama-worshipping media outlet....or maybe a presidency at some commie college. She'll land on her feet somewhere, so one will have to have a tag day for her. Who cares about her and her NYTimes tattoo, anyhow?
Her replacement at the Slimes will be even a worse screwed-up leftie, that's for sure...so what else is new!

There were several interesting things coming out of the New York Times right before they fired her... things that showed she was starting to see who Obama and some other elite liberals really were...

Yes, she spoke way too slowly — even slurring her words seemingly — for someone who was editor for the nyt.
It was the first time I’ve heard her speak, so I don’t know if she spoke like this while she was working there.
I’m getting to be the same way. I more consider myself just a follower of Reagan’s ideas. Harder for the Cheshire conservatives to twist his many clear writings on a variety of subjects. It’s almost pointless anymore to even use ‘conservative’ as a descriptor since so many have bastardized it’s meaning.

In reference to James Risen, a New York Times journalist who faces jail time for refusing to identify a source to the government, she said that "to criminalize just the work of journalists...
The phrase is "Too Soon Old Too Late Smart" - to that I say, "Better late than never...". Other journalists need to stiffen their backbones and start talking about this BEFORE they get fired.

Thanks. Despite my harsh words for Ms. Abramsom in my post, not one of which do I retract, I guess that applies to many of us, myself most certainly included.
I just wonder what will happen the next time a Republican is in the WH. Will they get their knickers in a twist when President X. goes on vacation, like they did when Bush repaired to his ranch for August? (I mean DC is the worst in August, but I’d think West Texas is not too much better.) Meanwhile Obama pretty much does nothing BUT go on vacation and it’s no biggie to them.
So, when President X. does it, what will they say? Will they engage in some group kabuki, like screaming teenagers at a concert (oy, that’s not a very good metaphor, is it?) and will anyone pay any attention to them?
They’ve harmed themselves far more than they’ve helped Obama.
And yes, I despise Jill Abramson, but I’m glad she’s speaking out.

GREAT rant! I agree. Sometimes I think the Internet has been a bad thing, pushing us into endless debate with each other, instead of out in the burgs and streets fighting.
Obama is destroying our country, and all many do is complain about it on a web forum.
I have some time off this Fall, I need to go to a state where I can help a conservative beat a liberal, preferably a US senator.
What can I do? Go door to door. Make phone calls. Give conservative older folks rides to the polls. Stand on a busy street corner with a poignant sign. There are so many things.
