I attempted to research the name "Tahmooressi", to little avail. The usual "name origin" websites had little to no information. A site or two seemed to imply the name may be Iranian (Persian). Andrew does look partly middle-eastern.

I thought perhaps Obama was prejudiced against him on this account...but I'm more inclined to think Obama resents that Andrew is (a) military (b) a marine and (c) is the owner of personal firearms...and was caught transporting them, even though, as far as we know, it was all legal in the U.S.

Andrew has become a political football between the U.S. and Mexico. Neither president gives a hoot about the Marine as a human being. Only their own unknown motives and their personal "face" matters to each of these immoral and sorry excuses for men.

I don’t know about his ancestry, but I understand that Sgt. Tamooressi did two tours in Iraq and is a US Marine.

Likely ancestors in the Philippines would be my guess. Lot's of PI men joined the Navy after WW2 and ended up settling in the US. He could easily be third generation in the U.S. and his grandfather or G Grandfather came from the PI's.
