Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he has stopped talking to US President Barack Obama on the phone, amid growing strains between Ankara and Washington over Syria and Gaza, AFP reports Tuesday.
Turkey, a fierce opponent of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and an open supporter of armed rebel fighters, felt betrayed when the United States backed away from military action against Damascus in September.
"In the past, I was calling him (Obama) directly. Because I can't get the expected results on Syria, our foreign ministers are now talking to each other," Erdogan said in a live interview on pro-government ATV channel late Monday. "And I have talked to (US Vice President Joe) Biden. He calls me and I call him."

Israel has aligned itself with the Egyptian block, because Egypt wants to crush Hamas as much as Israel does.
Erdogan not talking to Ø suits Ø just fine. It’s what Ø would expect and prefer anyway in a “Post American World”. Best of all, it leaves Ø more time for fundraising, golfing, vacationing. And the Vineyard is just over a week away...
Thus, both sides don’t want anything to do with Ø and his gang.
How will the kneepad media be spinning this? Or maybe they won’t be reporting it at all.
I would love to hear that conversation! Joke Biden conversing with Recep... 'hey Recep that Hamastan war is a big F'in deal isn't it? Sorry Barry didn't take your advice on Syria and that Red Line stuff.'
That’s okay, I wouldn’t talk to Obama either.
I don’t even listen to him ... LOL ...
I’m serious too, as I have MEVER ONCE listened to a speech that Obama has made. I do rely on others who can stand to listen to him. I just can’t take it!
No, I can’t listen to him or look at him. It’s a wonder I haven’t thrown something at the TV.
