It does protect that area, but the rocket got through nonetheless

Nonsense. You don't give up on the Hamas propaganda do you? Iron Dome has a 90% success rate, and the rocket on Tuesday was not in the 10%. The IDF said that rocket was tracked, and deemed not to be a threat to the airport.

In the past it has taken six months for tourism to recover.

Would that make you happy?

You're trying to say the FAA’s decision to ban flights was ‘entirely political’? With all that's going on there and with the fighting likely to intensify? On top of at least one rocket hit a mile from the runway, no need to take precautions?

Where's the evidence of the ban being an entirely political decision?

An agency like this would not have reversed a decision like this - this quickly - without being forced to. There was pressure from ex-NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg and his grandstanding, and Secretary of State John Kerry flying to Tel Aviv to make his very public point. As I’m sure you know, the SOS serves at the pleasure of the President, so it’s also hard to believe obama/valjar didn’t play a role here as well. This had to be only the tip of the iceburg.

At the very least, the FAA should have waited for things to cool down to the point where another missle would be unlikely to make its way so close to the airport.

The fact that it has been rescinded despite the fact that there has been no significant change in the security of the region and, as you so aptly state with the fighting likely to intensify.

The only thing that changed was Cruz's threat.
