It was only the close hit of a rocket that caused it in the first place ... thus what has changed is that there have been no more close hits ...
Also, see Posts #3, #5 and #7 ... as these are airlines acting on their own, along with airlines who are not under the authority of the FAA.
Air Canada is from a country that is probably the strongest supporter of Israel in the world, and they cited safety reasons.
And then, the initial news reports cited airlines who suspended flights on their own having nothing to do with the FAA, because they did it before the FAA acted.
And then you have the Germans and the Poles citing their safety concerns and they don’t even come under the authority of the FAA.
When that rocket hit near the airport, you can bet that all the airlines - themselves - sat straight up and immediately acted out of safety concerns — as any passenger of theirs would expect them to do.
Now you get to see whether these other airlines will even resume their flights or not.

On Tuesday, four major U.S. airline carriers announced their decision to cancel flights heading to Israel indefinitely, one specifically citing the danger of Gaza rocket attacks near Israel’s Ben Gurion airport.

SOME OF US knew that from the outset...and couldn’t figure out why they instituted the ban in the first place, other than to punish Israel.
He appears to be a Hamas sympathizer. Constantly arguing about how the US does not provide money to Hamas, missing the fact that Gaza IS Hamas.
Whether you like it or not ... it’s there, it’s in the article and it’s clearly apparent from news reports that planes diverted from Israel before the FAA even uttered one word. You’re beating a dead horse over this one, because thar’s what happened, as I was actually reading about the planes diverting before the FAA came out with anything.

Speaking ahead of special cabinet meeting, prime minister says IDF has made substantial gains against Hamas terror infrastructure in Gaza and will continue the operation in “full strength.” Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Thursday that Israel will continue Operation Protective Edge in Gaza with full force, giving no indication that a cease-fire was in the offing.
Speaking ahead of a special cabinet meeting, the prime minister said that the IDF has delivered a powerful blow to Hamas infrastructure over the course of the 17 day operation.
“We are continuing the operation in full strength,” he said, adding that the IDF was making big gains in Gaza.

As was mentioned earlier, the USA was the ONLY MEMBER to vote against an investigation of human rights violations in the UN Human Rights Council. And furthermore, as Israel constantly states and does, it says that those Palestinians in Gaza are NOT the enemy, despite the false accusations by Israel’s enemies that they are. Israel makes it abundantly clear that it’s Hamas that they are after and NOT Palestinian civilians. As the Israeli Ambassador says, Israel abides by International Law (and thus, does not commit war crimes)!

The all-clear had sounded in Nir Am quarter of an hour prior but soldiers were still walking the kibbutz’s paths in helmets and full combat gear on Monday morning. The fact that two Hamas attack teams had emerged from a tunnel exit only a few hundred meters away from the fence and in the ensuing firefight killed four soldiers, including a battalion commander, before they were killed themselves, was hard to shake off.
For three hours the members of the kibbutz and guests at the small motel (mainly journalists) had to remain indoors while the soldiers made sure no Hamas fighters had managed to get inside. The fact they had been wearing IDF uniforms, including regulating combat netting on their helmets, made everyone all the more jumpy. The calm was finally restored to the leafy kibbutz, disturbed every few minutes by the booms from a nearby artillery battery giving covering fire for the IDF forces fighting a few kilometers away in the eastern suburbs of Gaza.
The Hamas teams had been spotted first by IDF surveillance towers. The women soldiers operating the screens had received strict orders to constantly scan not only their sectors of responsibility across the fence in Gaza but also what the military ironically calls “the depth” - nearby Israeli territory where the infiltrators may have emerged undetected from under the ground. That was how the attackers who took out a tank and captured Gilad Shalit in June 2006 got through without being detected. That is still the vulnerable area, up close to the Israeli villages. And destroying those tunnels is a dangerous job, as seen in the deaths of three IDF paratroopers who were blown up by a Hamas booby trap while entering a tunnel entrance on Wednesday morning.

Gulf emirate is branded the villain behind Hamas belligerence, with PM’s former security adviser saying it funds tunnel diggers and rocket launchers.
President Shimon Peres accused Qatar on Wednesday of becoming “the world’s largest funder of terror” due to its financial support for Hamas in Gaza.
“Qatar does not have the right to send money for rockets and tunnels which are fired at innocent civilians,” the outgoing statesman told UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in Jerusalem. “Their funding of terror must stop. If they want to build then they should, but they must not be allowed to destroy.”
Qatar’s recently attempted to transfer funds for the salaries of Hamas civil servants in Gaza, following the formation of a Palestinian unity government, but was blocked by the United States, which pressured the Arab Bank not to process them. But former national security adviser Maj. Gen. (res) Yaakov Amidror told The Times of Israel that the emirate’s funding for the organization’s terror apparatus, including tunnel diggers and rocket launchers, has continued unabated.

There have been several prior articles posted on this. Turkey and Qatar have been the prime backers of Hamas, and the “other block” - who is opposing the Israel/Egypt/Jordan/Saudi Arabia block, who oppose Hamas!

Israel has requested an additional $225 million in United States funding for the production of Iron Dome components, in light of the wide-scale use of the system during Operation Protective Edge.
In a letter to the leaders of both houses of Congress on Wednesday, U. S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hegel wrote that the Department of Defense “has reviewed and supports this urgent request.”
The additional funding, if granted, will increase Iron Dome funding from the U.S. to more than half-a-billion dollars in the current financial year.
Both houses, which previously doubled the Iron Dome allocation requested by the administration, are expected to accede to the request.

You confuse “humanitarian aid” - which the USA sends through UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency) ... with “support for Hamas”, which neither the USA or Israel does.
The Israeli Ambassador made it clear yesterday that Israel does not have a problem with the Gaza residents, but with Hamas ...

AND ... Israel has an embargo around Gaza to stop all weapons from getting through to Hamas -BUT - Israel allows all humanitarian aid to go through their checkpoints from UNRWA - through which the USA sends its aid.
