For much of the spring, it seemed as if General Motors issued a new round of recalls every other day, but the automaker has been largely quiet on that front for over three weeks. Could the recall party be coming to an end?
Based on a new press release from GM, the answer is probably "no".
The release outlines six new recalls, some big, some small. They cover a range of recent models from GM's surviving four nameplates and affect roughly 823,000 vehicles. This brings the total number of vehicles recalled by GM since January 1, 2014 to 28,767,143.
Here's a quick rundown of the six new recalls:

They've been putting the taxpayers bail-out money to good use!
thank god they paid us back...

I bought a GM product right before the bailout during the fire sale. All sorts of electrical issues that would not warranty. Glad to say I unloaded it a couple months back. Never another GM product.
Yep... You can tell it’s Government Motors
Why don’t they just list the cars that haven’t been recalled? Probably a lot shorter list that way.
I bought a 2012 Tahoe. I love it, and so does my wife.
The recalls are for the most part BS. Just a way to get you to visit their showroom and listen to a sales pitch.
In the Washington Post. Hmmmmmmm?
“You have to give us more tax money! You don’t want us to lay off a bunch of workers right before an election, do you? Think of what that would do to the Democrat Party!”
The answer is that the US Bankruptcy laws are the fairest laws in the world and transparency in the bankruptcy process is miles ahead of any nation. So the reason not to use the process that every one else uses is to provide special protection to a creditor class not afforded under the current law..... in this case the UNIONS!!!
However, GM management gets the last laugh. If this was a traditional bankruptcy, you'd bet every effort would be made to find every bit of liability so that the debt can be settled in bankruptcy at a discount rather than later. GM management intentionally withheld these problems from the government so they could emerge from Obamabankruptcy stronger (although this was a facade). Thus they could enjoy continued employment and bonuses. Then they retire when the sh*t hits the fan.
This is cronyism at its best which is usually seen in third world banana republics.
Move to China to sell you crap!
/SARC for them wot needs it
I just bought me a 2011 Camaro and one of the recalls is the ignition recall. They essentially cannibalize your ‘switchblade’ key fob and give you a traditional key with the gutted fob hanging off the end... over my dead body. lol

Pontiac and Oldsmobile solved the recall problem. The rest of GM should do it the same way. I swore I’d never buy another GM product over thirty years ago. Haven’t and won’t.
Two more GM recalls just crossed the wire: 155,000 Pontiacs and 248,000 Oldsmobiles
how many of these parts have some bit of Chinese materials? Did the rush to outsource products ruin the safety of our cars? anyone have any REAL data on overseas parts and these recalls?
I want my tax dollars back!
GM should have been broken up.
Union Made Lemon
Got an older GM that has been a fine vehicle, but that was back before Government Motors. This is a shame.
