We Sent Back Elian {And we acted decisively then]

The US government, which has refused to act decisively to control the horde of children entering the US via Mexico from Central America (estimated to be nearly 60,000 from October 2013 to June 2014) certainly had no compunctions about expelling a helpless child back to terrible conditions in the case of Elian Gonzalez back in 1999 during the Clinton regime.  In that case, the Feds were wrong to send a child back to a communist dictatorship, where he lives today, a member of the Union of Young Communists, propagandist for the regime, and personal “friend” of Fidel Castro.

Elian was different.

He was here legally and was being forced back to a tyrannical communist country whose dictator had had sex with Barbara Walters.

Entirely different situation.

democrats wanted him to go back, while normal people wanted him to stay. 180 degrees. Now it’s to their advantage to want the “migrants” to stay here.

Elian truly had relatives in this country who cared about him, they were not going to go on any welfare rolls.

RE: whose dictator had had sex with Barbara Walters.

Fidel Castro and Barbara Walters? The latter must be desperate...

Elian was stuck in the middle of a custody battle. His father who wanted him vs. relatives he didn’t even know who used him as a political pawn.

Clinton/Reno made the right call

His father was happy that Elian was safe on the US - until Castro’s goons had a word with him. Then he changed his tune.

Fidel Castro didn’t even know Elian yet befriended him and used him as a political pawn.

Disagree there.

His mom died to get him to the US, where he had relatives.

He should have stayed.

He had relatives who were ordered to try to force the kid back or end up in a torture prison.

Don’t kid yourself.

“Fidel Castro and Barbara Walters?”

Lust in her heart for a cold-blooded murderer.

What a sick bitch.

Elian was different.

Cuban immigrants at the time were almost exclusively Republican... a difference Janet Reno understood...

The New Black Panther Party threatened Philadelphia voters with billy clubs and Eric Holder’s justice department couldn’t be bothered. CAIR was accused of fundraising for Hamas, and Eric Holder shrugged.

But back when Fidel Castro demanded the return of an escaped slave, Eric Holder snapped to attention, clicked his heels, and sprung to action. It is scrupulous legality, we’re given to understand by Mr. Holder, that prevents his Department from prosecutions against the New Black Panthers and CAIR.

But regarding scrupulous legality, Fox News Andrew Napolitano had (then Deputy) Attorney General Eric Holder’s number way back in April 23rd, 2000. Here it is thanks to The Media Research Center:

Napolitano: Tell me, Mr. Holder, why did you not get a court order authorizing you to go in and get the boy (Elian Gonzalez)?

Holder: Because we didn’t need a court order. INS can do this on its own.

Napolitano: You know that a court order would have given you the cloak of respectability to have seized the boy.

Holder: We didn’t need an order.

“Elian was stuck in the middle of a custody battle. His father who wanted him vs. relatives he didn’t even know who used him as a political pawn.

Since when is the President and the Attorney General of the US supposed to make UNILATERAL decisions in custody cases?!!!!

And since when is the US government supposed to send armed goons to forcibly grab a child in the middle of a “custody case” as you put it

There was a court case coming up and they did this before that case was heard.

NOT to mention the issues that Elian’s Mother had full custody of him in Cuba and she died trying to bring him to the US, and he had LEGAL reason to stay, any Cuban refugees who stepped on land in the US were supposed to be allowed to stay.
