Mission group from Hamilton attacked in Guatemala

A group of Hamilton teens and adults were ready to come home from their mission trip to Guatemala when they were attacked and robbed.

The members of First Congregational Church of Hamilton were on their way to the airport in two vans when one of the vans, carrying 17 people, was carjacked.

Sources tell 7News some of the assaults were sexual.

Terrible.

For the “silver lining file”; this did not take place in Africa. The HIV rate is not 40% in Guatemala, which means that the reported sexual assaults are not death sentences.

My heart goes out to that team and I certainly pray that the team members attacked can have the grace to forgive their attackers.

The sexual assaults were a warm-up act for when they finally arrive in America and are given Amnesty and a Green Card and EBT cards and Obamacare by Obama and Jeb Bush.

Of course they were attacked and robbed. ‘WE have caused them to be poor, and poverty leads to crime.’ Or maybe, just maybe, they are low-life gang guys looking for easy money. Thanks Obama, this will be a swell new bunch of citizens. I bet they’ll really buy into the Melting Pot idea/ not, and take advantage of FREE everything to make a better life for themselves.

Or maybe, just maybe, they’ll enjoy the new ‘shopping’ opportunities with more Christians and people that have something they WANT.

I have argued with those in my church that want to send missionaries to far away lands that we have plenty of lost sheep that need help right here in places like West Virginia, rural south, and other places. I refuse to let my wife or kids go on those trips to Mehico or South/Central America.
