California Democratic congresswoman Karen Bass urged the American people to think about the surge of illegal immigrant children flooding the southern border as a hurricane or some other natural disaster a statement even MSNBC host Jose Diaz-Balart found a bit perplexing.
Bass appeared on Diaz-Balarts eponymous show to discuss the growing number of Central American children illegally crossing the southern border of the United States. The sheer number has quickly overwhelmed government agencies and private charities, and calls are growing for President Obama and Congress to halt the deluge. Some have called on Congress to change a 2008 law making it easy for these children to claim refugee status, a rule many claim is fueling the migration. But Bass rejected that notion. (RELATED: Families Are Paying Smugglers To Escort Unaccompanied Children)
I dont think that we should use this crisis to change the law, she said. That law was put in place to address trafficking from Central America, and one of the things that we know or that we need to find out more information about is that many of these children might have been trafficked.
So I think we need to deal with this as a humanitarian crisis, just like you would deal with a hurricane or some other natural disaster, Bass continued. And then if we need to make some changes to the law we can do that down the road. But I dont think we should do that right now.

Using this logic....everything should be treated like a Katrina. And the President ought to be a plane going somewhere.....sixteen hours of the day....with buckets of cash to help save the day....day after day after day.
Yeah, a “Katrina-government” permanent and ever-lasting.
It’s a made up crisis right out of the Oval Office
Obama prayed for this disaster like Achilles prayed for the rout of the Achaeans.
Too bad Obama don’t care about da white people.
If this is such a humanitarian crisis, why didn’t Mexico get involved, and why didn’t the UN warn us of this “great Humanitarian” issue? I have to say this congresswoman really admitted she is full of BS
everything should be treated like a Katrina. ....In their minds..OK Obama’s fault. I doubt it.
And if you don't want to be flooded, you build a levee and maintain it properly. Unfortunately there are too many people who profit from living in the swamp.
OK. I don’t want a hurricane coming into my community.
The difference being that the current administration did not CREATE Katrina.
Why doesn’t Hollywood have a telethon to raise cash for their airfare back?
This “flood” of “child” immigrants we’re seeing is right out of Saul Alinsky’s book, “Rules for Radical”. That flood:
(1) Overwhelms the US government’s border control and health systems!
(2) Uses US citizens’ compassion as a weapon against us!
And apparently Obama now wants to make things worse by giving “Do Not Deport” cards to any illegal that wants one.
Let’s expose this scam BEFORE it happens by denouncing Obama’s proposed “Death-To-America” bill, starting now.
Why?
Same reason no liberal is calling for the post-birth abortions of these unwanted, “surplus” children...
Yeah I always direct a tornado right to the middle of my house...
its such a blessing to see my home destroyed and me homeless..
A light is in the window...y’all c’mon...
Like a plague?
stupid Democrats..
Heres the latest idiocy...
I’m listening to some of the LIVE meeting that Raul Grijalva and his Congressional Progressive Caucus are having right now on the illegal aliens..
they have “children” testifying there in the House..
2 of the 3 have “horrifying” stories to tell of their time in the Border detention..
They are spending more time complaining about the way the Americans treated them than about their experiences in Central America..
“They counted how many children were there”
LOL
Gee go back and tell the others not to come here
Flee the American BP..
stay home..
