FEDS: Ironworkers' goons targeted elementary school construction sites

Five leaders of Ironworkers Local 410, previously indicted in February by federal prosecutors, are facing additional charges of extortion for targeting nonunion workers who were building elementary schools and other public facilities in the Philadelphia suburbs.

According to a federal grand jury, business agents of the union would approach nonunion contractors working at the job sites and demand they hire union ironworkers. If their demands were not met, a crew from the ironworkers union called the “Shadow Gang” would “sneak into the construction site at night, use sledgehammers to smash the anchor bolts of the building, and damage equipment.”

Govt prosecutors are after union members?
Did they fail to make their payments to the Democrat party?

This is nothing new. Tactics like this have been going on for decades.

Just S.O.P. for union thugs!

Union electricians go in and snip the pigtails at electrical boxes in the walls, so that the place has to be completely re-wired.

The problem with telling people “I'm gonna come mess up your sh** tonight” is that it gives them plenty of time to set up an old fashion bushwhack at the location of said sh**.

A competitor friend of mine got a K-Mart job we both bid on in St. Louis two decades ago. He started the job “merit shop”, which means he awarded subcontracts to both union and non-union subcontractors, double gated the job so that union and non-union would enter by separate gates.

As they were getting underway one of the more militant trades had some guys on the jobsite at the end of the day. They broke the window out of the superintendent’s truck, released the brake and rolled it against the exterior door of the job trailer where the superintendent was in his small office. Then they set the job trailer on fire.

Job trailers have bars on the windows — the guy used a hammer to break out an entire framed window area or he wouldn’t have got out alive.

I could write up a dozen incidents like that, but let’s just say that while there are some fine people in the crafts and even some fine Business Agents and Organizers, there are also some terrible criminals capable of anything you can imagine.

Yep. It took The Feds to catch and charge the Union Thugs. Local cops just look the other way.

Honestly, I'm a little surprised that there are any people in the federal law enforcement agencies that will deal with illegal union activities. The DOJ is 3rd world corrupt.

I despise these people with every fiber of my being with them threatening my family through the years. I’m sorry, but if they were on fire, I wouldn’t even offer spit.

Local cops? Pffft. They’re union, too. We certainly didn’t get any help from them.

Obviously one of the crony capitalist beneficiaries has been harmed or else the Feds would still be sitting in their dens watching porn and playing with their weewees.

The iron workers are white and Irish. The DOJ is not. No love lost between the two. Separate gangs with different agendas.
