Amid several outstanding domestic and foreign policy crises Congress must tackle by the end of the week, House Republicans are finalizing their plans to sue President Obama.

The House voted 225 to 201 Wednesday afternoon to authorize House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, to go forward with the lawsuit. It alleges that the president has overreached on his executive authority by unilaterally changing the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

In 2018, USSC will decide the House has Constitutional remedies it chose not to use and will not take the case.

Boner and the gutless “leadership” in the house have the power of the purse strings. They should use it. That lawsuit is going no place.

Sorry but this is one STUPID idea.

Congress has ceded all their legislative powers to Obama and refuses to defund his executive fiats and will not use their constitutional powers to keep him in check, so they want the courts to do their job for them.

Cowards!

The courts will rightly dismiss this STUPID lawsuit.

Indeed. Congress has constitutional remedy... but Bohner continues to cover up for, protect O.

and so he tosses us this bone of a lawsuit

either the court will toss it as you say, or an O-political- apparatchnik judge will rule against Congress (thus actually re-enabling O)

Oh whoopie. A case that will take til Hildabeast’s second term to get to SCOTUS and guarantees Dim GOTV.

Don’t care if I’m the lone conservative, the suit is dubious and there is no upside.

I think it's the right way to go for now...to get us to the elections.

Funding...it was funded into the future when it became law.

Can u say smokescreen boys and girls?

Another example of the GOP-E pretending to be tough on one issue, while they attempt to pass something you really hate, like Amnesty, by allowing the Senate to load up their bill with all the components of Amnesty.

And how long will this take? This will go nowhere. Bonehead Boehner, who has no backbone, cannot speak coherently in front of a camera, and has skin reminiscent of a lizard, does not have a clue. You can cut off all funding to any of the feckless one’s projects but you refuse to use that power. We need a new speaker.

Whoa...now that was crazy. Or maybe I'm crazy.

I started to read this about the republican's lawsuit and suddenly in my mind I'm watching Andy Kaufman do his "Mighty Mouse" routine the first time on Saturday Night Live.

"Here they come to save the daaaay!"

Is there any precedent in history of Congress suing a sitting president? I can't think of one.

Even if congress wins. Obama won’t pay any attention to the ruling. And there will be no one who can make him obey. It changes nothing.

From Sarah Palin's Facebook Page:

Rush is right. The GOP wants to take impeachment off the table? When will you learn liberals won't hate you less if you play nice in these tumultuous times? No matter how polite, complacent, and complicit you are, Obama will continue to harm our Republic and make you impotent. Even today, his very un-presidential speech mocked you for always being a' "hatin'." Your apathy is their power.

We must count on you, GOP. In the political arena you're our last best hope at present. After soothing Obama by reassuring him that he'll never be held accountable via the ultimate serious check on his lawlessness, you'll now ease on down WHAT road to stop the madness? What's the plan to stop his fundamental transformation of America? Please don't tell us you're armed with a phone and a pen and now a bunch of lawyers filing suit. You can't bring those to the front lines and win.

And please don't underestimate the wisdom of the people. We see Team Obama's obvious strategy in pushing you back in a corner as you lay down the ultimate weapon of force our Founders provided you in our Constitution. Congress, you've already disarmed yourself of the other weapon the Constitution gives you by refusing to use the power of the purse to defund Obama’s lawlessness. Now you’re completely unilaterally disarming by taking any notion of impeachment off the table while Obama gleefully pushes forward with amnesty by fiat. He's called your bluff, GOP! But it's not too late.

Stand tall and don’t be afraid to educate the public about the Constitution’s remedy for a lawless imperial presidency. If you educate Americans about what impeachable offenses really are, they will listen. And trust me, if Obama moves on amnesty, Americans will look to you for action. If you stand up for the Constitution, you won't let them down. Please be stronger, wiser, and more courageous for us. We'll have your back. Reciprocate.

- Sarah Palin
