On Wednesday, House Republicans sued President Obama for acting on his own without approval from Congress. On Thursday, House Republicans told President Obama he should act on his own to fix the border crisis.
The messaging whiplash resulted from Speaker John Boehner's failure – so far – to pass a Republican spending bill that would provide $659 million to help stem the child migrant crisis on the U.S.-Mexico border.
In a statement following the decision to abruptly scrap a vote on the measure, Boehner and his fellow GOP leaders tried to put the onus back on Obama, saying the president had the power to act unilaterally, "without the need for congressional action," to respond to the crisis.
There are numerous steps the president can and should be taking right now, without the need for congressional action, to secure our borders and ensure these children are returned swiftly and safely to their countries."
Yet that was a polar opposite message from the one Republicans delivered a day earlier, when they voted to authorize a lawsuit against Obama for "bypass[ing] the legislative process to create his own laws by executive fiat," according to an accompanying committee report.

These guys are pretty good propagandists.
They draw an equivalency between LEGAL actions a POTUS can take unilaterally, and ILLEGAL ones.
This is not about illegals per say. legally it is about separation of powers precedent, all process hidden behind the humanitarian media focus.
Just enforce the laws

BTW, Impeaching Obama in 2014, would definitely speed up opening the Southern Border to NAFTA traffic only.
The enforcement of laws and the breaking of laws separates a lawful government from a criminal government. That leftists loons can not grasp this is no surprise at all.

the utter simplicity of enforcing current law....is not of sufficient journalistic content ..... and no one can get any facetime concerning it....
When the executive branch has demonstrated
that it will enforce the laws that it likes
and it will ignore the laws it does not like
and that it will create rules out of whole-cloth
then what is the point of congress passing any laws.
The House of Representatives should just stand down
and do nothing ... and I mean absolutely nothing.
No committee meetings, no legislation brought to the floor, NOTHING.
Just adjourn and go home.

Good line by Dems, Bohner needs to pass the border spending bill with clauses ending Obama’s ability to give temporary amnesty , like his giving working papers to illegals.
Yes, the GOP inability to unite on strategy puts them up for ridicule.
Kelly is now playing clips of Obama prior to being POTUS saying that a POTUS cant grant this type of amnesty that he has been, but the GOP doesn't want to debate this issue.

Exactly - like enforcing the laws in this (among many) instance. He can decide to do that and existing laws would make a huge difference w/o any other worthless bills and wasting of even more money.

No bill/money unless the bill includes funds to build a complete fence, across the entire border, including the EPA regions and enforce nobody coming across illegally.

REALITY CHECK At Tuesday's House hearing on immigration, CONG LOUIE GOHMERT (REP-TX) had this eye-opening exchange with the Obama appointee rubber-stamping illegals into the US:
GOHMERT: WRT drug cartels paid $6000 to "guide" the hordes over the border---"Would you, as a former prosecutor, call them criminals?" Gohmert nonchalantly asked Obama appointee, Leon Rodriguez--now heading a DHS agency.
The smirking Rodriguez stepped headlong into the trap as Cong Gohmert casually hoisted him on his own petard.....making the point that if the hordes were coming here to escape drug cartels, why is it they are consorting w/ the nasty criminals, and are paying the violent breed to accompany them over the border?
Definitely not the behavior of someone in mortal fear, "forced" to escape to the US for protection. More likely, the swarm is in collusion w/ the cartels. Better check those backpacks.
