Why Israel has to be on the defensive about their war on terror is astonishing? Not one word from Megyn Kelly about HAMAS terror!

I hate to say this, but every day it is becoming more and more apparent that content of fox news is being driven by an Anti-Israel bias...perhaps by its owners (e.g. Saudis)

Sometimes I think Megyn is auditioning for a future job at ABC/NBC/CBS.

I saw this interview. Kelly was respectful, gave Dermer the chance to answer & didn’t interrupt some long responses. She asked tough, hard question & gave him a forum to address the criticism that Israel is getting. There’s a difference between what she did and the way a Lefty Anti-Israel MSM interviewer would have done it. Dermer answered all her questions, didn’t duck anything and I thought he came across very well. It was an “uncomfortable” interview because the questions were hard & on a tough subject (the ugliness of war for everybody), but after, I thought it was a fair interview.

Thank you
I will watch this when I can
but your view on it seems more like what MKelly has done in the past.
so she asked the rough questions but allowed him to answer
These questions needed to be answered since liberal media isn’t allowing answers

but after, I thought it was a fair interview.

Really? She pressed the propaganda questions pretty hard when she should know that the contentions were false. Being balanced is not necessarily a good thing when the balance is weighted down by lies, posing as honest questions.

She gave the Israeli rep hard questions and he fielded them perfectly.

This gives Israel a chance to get their story out in a fair fashion.

Tough questions that receive well founded, true and accurate answers are a good thing for Israel. The facts on the ground support Israel and solid, truthful answers to hard ball questions add to the credibility and strength of the Israeli position.

Would one rather have a CNN or MSNBC situation where some Hamas supporting asks questions like , “ when will Israel stop commiting war crimes “

I stand by my opinion - uncomfortable, but fair.

When she had terrorist bomber Bill Ayers on, she asked him the “hard” questions. When she has RATs on she asks them hard questions. When she has conservatives on, she asks them hard questions. Should she treat the Israeli Ambassador any differently? She appears (to me) to be doing her job.

I have not seen her ask them in a manner that appears to express a bias, but she does follow up if answers are non-responsive or unsatisfactory. I think of her as a pretty pit bull. We could use more like her.

Thus providing the Israeli Ambassador an opportunity to refute the falsehoods. Sounds fair to me. Your mileage may vary.

Frankly, when I read descriptions of so and so “grills”, “destroys” or even “eviscerates” some liberal somebody about something, it always turns out to be a gross exaggeration.

What usually happens is that valid and rational questions about this duplicity or that are posited, and they are answered with gobbledygook.

In most of the recounts of such, it mostly turns out to be another liberal that sticks with the program plan and lie to the end.

NIL

And he's laughing all the way to the bank.

I may have allowed my BS_Meter to get too high from previous interviews....Here is my problem with Megyn:

1. I am no layer, but she puts Dermer in the hot seat with questions like, "Do you believe that Israel is defensible in its attack on..." The inference being that it is difficult to defend killing kids.
2. She never mentioned one word of HAMAS using kids as human shields!?
3. She acts as though the Obama Admin is the objective 3rd party!?
4. She asks, "Even the staunchest Israel supporters can't justify the killing of kids..." Basically accusing Israel of killing children when it is HAMAS putting them in harms way to be killed!?

Perhaps it is only me...but I see this as being a harbinger of bad things to come when the last of BIG MEDIA that proclaims to be fair/balanced begins down the road of Islamic Appeasement...

More like softballs...who cares about 40 years ago...Here are some hardballs..., “Did you coauthor Obama’s books?”, “Did you help Obama get into the White House?”, “What do you think about the Cloward Piven strategy and its apparent victory in the battleground of ideas lately..”, “Do you support the fundamental transformation of America into a socialist/communist state?”...<b

Ah, MegYn Kelly. At least she apparently answered the phone call from the 80’s asking for its mullet back.

Ever since another FReeper pointed out a while ago how she spells her name with a “Y”, I’ve always kind of wondered if she should be taken seriously.

But I guess if that’s the worst that can be said of her she’s not doing too bad.

Seems to me this wasn’t a “grilling” more like an opportunity for an Israeli official to respond to some of the outrageous allegations from the left (as others have said too).

Still wish she’d spell it “Megan” though.

Mostly disagree with rdcbn and JimRed. Every question Megyn asked was one that might be asked more loudly and accusingly at MSNBC; all the horrible images and all the accusations that can be directed at Israel. Nothing wrong with those questions, but that is all there was for 8 minutes.

No questions about Israel’s goals in the operation, progress and what circumstances would end their operation in Gaza. No time for the ambassador to explain Israel’s position in positive terms, just responses to the most negative accusations that can be made against Israel.

One-sided questions; not Fair and Balanced.

Her parents may well be responsible for the spelling of her name...

I missed it as I can’t stand the sight of Megyn Kelly. In fact we hardly ever watch Fox anymore. They have changed and not for the better.

Yesterday morning the GOP trotted that Rep Salmon out to push the POS immigration bill they want to pass. Two times he said that the bill would put the National Guard on the border which is an outright lie. Neither of the Fox bobbleheads even questioned him on it.

Sorry, but grilling people she is interviewing is part of the job. I get really sick of republicant butt kissers. I wish all these news shows would grill every person they have on.
If they are public officials in any capacity they SHOULD be grilled.
