West Africa's Ebola outbreak is out of control but it can be stopped, World Health Organization chief Margaret Chan said on Friday.

"This outbreak is moving faster than our efforts to control it," Chan told the presidents of Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast at a meeting in Guinea's capital Conakry.

"If the situation continues to deteriorate, the consequences can be catastrophic in terms of lost lives but also severe socioeconomic disruption and a high risk of spread to other countries," she said, according to a WHO transcript.

Yea, but generally high mortality bugs lose mortality if they become more transmissible.

It will only take a 3-7.5% mortality rate illness to have a high possibility of sticking a fork in much of western civilization though...

They have got to close those countries down completely. Nobody in or out. This must happen immediately.

Every other country must refuse to let plane from there land.

There is a Zaire strain of Ebola that is 90% deadly, a really nasty virus.

The current outbreak is the Zaire strain, and mortality is around 60%. There have been instances of as high as 90%, but not this time. So far.

“Yikes! I don’t know how they get people to work for the Border Patrol. Those people are brave and the Obama administration is crapping all over them.”

I don’t know if it’s brave to continuing doing a dangerous job when you are forced to always be ineffective. Inthink it’s more about wanting that pension than wanting to do a job in which you can be proud of your accomplishment. Just like what teaching has been reduced to.

“The White House (Valerie Jarrett) probably has a plan that will ensure a proper level of diversity within these disease outbreaks.”

Look to where Obama is sending the illegals. To white areas for the most part, other than the Texas locations, to make sure we also get to share in the crime and diseases.

SARS was mostly theoretical at a time people were looking for something to get hysterical about.
Ebola is real, is killing a lot of people now, is spreading now, and we’re under an administration which seems hell-bent on getting a major infection loose here. And I’m a half hour drive from a probable Ground Zero.

“The same CDC in Atlanta that was reprimanded a few days ago for being careless and sloppy with their vials of anthrax””

Two years ago, a germ got loose at NIH and 6 people died.

So how can anyone be sure that our topnotch experts won’t drop the ball again? Do we have to contact them on Twitter, where they probably spend all of their time?

Research, Schmeesearch, what’s trending?

Exactly; thing is, with Ebola, there won’t really be much they can do other than pray and meet Christ before they die. Unlike AIDS, Ebola isn’t considered fashionable and people wouldn’t want to meet with them in order to hear their stories.

Amazing; already Asians are demanding and getting cooperation. Implementing common sense boundaries and precautions.

" I came across a small cemetery in the mountains once .... noticed virtually all the death dates (many young & old, some in-between) were mostly in/around 1918. It was very, very eerie for one thing, and utterly sobering to imagine what was going on during that time (killed three to five percent of the world’s population)."

This cemetery was dedicated to the 1819 victims of Yellow Fever. I was surprised at how many foreign born are in there.

That’s because the Asian elites don’t wish to kill 90% of the world’s population to save the planet.

Much less 90% of their own countrymen.

Imagine—an instant fix to the insolvency issues and an immediate excuse to hit the reset button with a whole lot less takers. No lost infrastructure to boot.

Yellow fever is, like ebola, a viral hemorrhagic illness. The vector is the mosquito instead of monkeys and bats.
