Republicans Vote To End DACA
roll call ^

Posted on 08/01/2014 8:06:37 PM PDT by cornelis

Updated 10:29 p.m. | House Republicans voted to prohibit President Barack Obama from granting what they consider to be an unconstitutional amnesty to illegal immigrants Friday.

The bill would effectively end Deferred Actions for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA — a program that has allowed hundreds of thousands of “Dreamers” brought to the United States illegally by their parents to get work permits and avoid deportation. And it would prohibit the president from expanding the program, as he has been reportedly considering doing for as many as five million additional immigrants.

The 216-192 vote was largely along party lines, with four Democrats voting “yes” — Collin C. Peterson of Minnesota, Mike McIntyre of North Carolina, John Barrow of Georgia, and Nick J. Rahall II of West Virginia.

“They should add the immediate requirement for E-Verify.”

I agree, but with 90+ million Americans not working I don’t think cheap labor is the purpose of the open border any more. We have an aging Dems won’t stand by while public schools close due to lack of enrollment. The Hispanics are being trafficked here as consumers, not producers - to fill the classrooms, supermarket aisles, government welfare agencies and vacant housing that Americans won’t.

Well then they’re all collaborators, including the media.

RE:”Eleven Republicans broke ranks to oppose it — Mario Diaz-Balart of Florida, Jeff Denham of California, Cory Gardner of Colorado, Mike Coffman of Colorado, David Valadao of California, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen of Florida, David Reichert of Washington, Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, Joe Heck of Nevada, Mark Amodei of Nevada, and Fred Upton of Michigan.
.....
The term “RINOs” does not even cover it.
Might the term “Collaborators” be closer?”

They are in districts with significant numbers of Hispanic voters.

The media is the very definition of “collaboration”; the destruction of our country wouldn’t have been possible without their efforts. Hitler and Stalin had their propagandists, and our overlords have theirs.

These are the pro-amnesty turncoats who are more worried about being reelected than doing the right thing for the country. They approve of Obama's backdoor amnesty and will have no problem if it is expanded to 6 million more lawbreakers.

As for Mario Diaz-Balart and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, blood is thicker than water. It is the reason why this country is headed towards Balkanization and tribal politics.

Eleven Republicans broke ranks to oppose it ... Cory Gardner of Colorado

That would be the same Cory Gardner who is the GOP nominee running for the Senate in CO. I was considering contributing to his campaign since he may have a chance against Udall but no more. If he stabs us in the back on this now imagine what he will do if he has a 6 year term in the Senate.

How does Cory Gardner think this is a good idea? Is he trying to get the illegal vote too? Mark Udall has a crappy record (unless you are a progressive pro-choice type) - run against that and take a stand on immigration. For crying out loud, how does a state with El Paso and Weld counties end up with a pothead governor and 2 Senators slightly to the left of Obama? By running GOPe candidates - that’s how!

Harry Reid is right about Joe Heck. I think Reid will win in 2016.

Sandoval, Amodei, Joe Heck, Senator Heller, House Candidate Cresent Hardy and Lt Gov Candidate Hutchison are all pro-amnesty.

Governor Brian Sandoval ran against giving driving privileges to illegals and supporting SB1070.

Then he flip flopped in office. Reid and Sandoval are running a 1 party state on immigration and other issues. Sandoval could have any position on immigration and still been safe this year.

I don’t know if Kinzinger or Upton have that many hispanics.

Ken Marchant(TX) probably has 10,20 or 30% hispanics in his Dallas district and he said he refuses to support amnesty because 6 or 7 out of 10 will vote Democrat.
