Rubio defends his immigration plan, calls Obama's policy a 'lure' in Central America

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, a potential 2016 presidential candidate, pressed ahead Sunday with his multi-step immigration-reform plan, amid criticism that conservative voters have forced him to backtrack on comprehensive reform.

“I didn’t get elected to watch national poll numbers,” the first-term Republican senator said on “Fox News Sunday.”

Rubio said Washington has to address the “root causes” of the immigration issue, which has now turned into a crisis situation with tens of thousands of unaccompanied Central American youths coming into the U.S. illegally along the country’s southern border.

He said those problems include a 2008 law intended to protect children from non-bordering countries against human trafficking and President Obama’s 2012 executive memo that defers deportation to young people brought illegally to the U.S.

Rubio pointed out that Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández has said the ambiguities in U.S. law have resulted in human traffickers persuading families to hire them to deliver their children from their violent neighborhoods.

“It’s serving as a lure,” he said.

Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández has said the ambiguities in U.S. law have resulted in human traffickers persuading families to hire them to deliver their children from their violent neighborhoods.

So Turd World connivers are claiming DACA is "entrapment" ---- that US policy is causing illegals to commit crimes?

=================================================

REALITY CHECK At last Tuesday's House hearing on immigration, CONG LOUIE GOHMERT (REP-TX) had this eye-opening exchange with the Obama appointee rubber-stamping illegals into the US:

GOHMERT: WRT drug cartels paid $6000 each to "guide" the hordes over the border---"Would you, as a former prosecutor, call them criminals?" Gohmert nonchalantly asked Obama appointee, Leon Rodriguez--now heading a DHS agency.

The smirking Rodriguez stepped headlong into the trap as Cong Gohmert casually hoisted him on his own petard.....making the point that if the hordes were coming here to escape drug cartels, why is it they are consorting w/ the nasty criminals, and are paying the violent breed to accompany them over the border?

Definitely not the behavior of someone in mortal fear, "forced" to escape to the US for protection. More likely, the swarm is in collusion w/ the cartels. Better check those backpacks.

Here’s a one-step immigration reform plan.

Enforce the law.

Maybe because it is a different gang and a different drug cartel? < / sarcasm >

This is exactly what it is doing, and exactly what Obama knew it would do. And it's not so much violence as just poverty.

Honduras was the country that opposed Obama when he tried to impose a leftist usurper on them as their President (sound familiar?...although the Hondurans actually voted against this guy) and he has been punishing it ever since.

Honduras, which had actually been doing fairly well, was dropped from the OAS and from a number of trade agreements, all to punish the country for having opposed The Won.

They don't want their young people leaving, since the strength of Latin America is that is has a young population, unlike the US, which is aging out. So now Obama is trying to steal another of their resources, perhaps the last one.

WHITE HOUSE SCAM-A-RAMA FIESTA News reports say Honduras Juan Orlando Hernandez and Guatemala President Otto Pérez Molina (and their first ladies) "say" they want their children back....... and they’re "willing to cooperate" with us to send their children back as quickly as possible........ that is to say.....will cooperate "for a price"......

Honduras is actually demanding the US finance a mini-Marshall plan. Extortion comes to mind....and kickbacks. They emptied out their villages with greedy visions of billions in remittances expected.

Now they want to cooperate? Call this a Third World scam by opportunists who smell money.....a scam Chicago criminals like Obama know very well.

““I didn’t get elected to watch national poll numbers,” the first-term Republican senator said on “Fox News Sunday.” “

Maybe not, but you also didn’t get elected to TOTALLY IGNORE the concerns of your voters, either.
