“Advocates of the law also say teaching the newly insured how to be smart health care consumers could advance the law’s central goal of keeping costs down,”
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Gee, I never would have guessed that the central goal was to keep costs down, who knew?

“I’ve had one doctor appointment since I got this insurance, and I had to pay $60,” Ms. Shabazz told Daniel Flynn, a counselor with the health network, the Health Federation of Philadelphia. “I don’t have $60.”

Income of $19,000? OK, but how much free stuff does she get courtesy of taxpayers? Why isn’t she already on Medicaid? Bet she gets food stamps, housing, free meals for the kiddies at school, and even a free phone. No, $19,000 isn’t much, but if all the necessities of life are provided for you besides that, it’s not the same as living on a garbage dump.

People need to know that when poverty statistics are troted out for public consumption, none of the non-cash benefits people receive (not to mention what they might get in the underground economy) are NOT counted in their income numbers. It’s a total scam to make people believe there really are Americans buying providing for themselves and their families on a meager income alone. Fals.

Good luck doing that, many have not been able to.

Her next step is Disability. Which takes years and a lawyer.

My income is $8,000 less than hers. But then again gov’t controls every aspect of my medical care being Medicare and Tricare Life (Ret. Military over 65). And it sucks.

After it passed Congress, the freeshtsquad was walking into doctors’ offices and demanding treatment right there, on the spot, for free.
