(Newser) – The US is treating the American doctor who contracted Ebola, and isn't about to turn tail on the virus. "Ebola’s scary, and it’s understandable that with a deadly disease, people are concerned," says CDC director Tom Frieden, but for those who would have us turn victims away, "the plain truth is, we can stop Ebola. We know how to control it. We’re not going to hermetically seal the borders of the US. We’re reliant and interdependent with the world for travel, for trade, for the economy, for our families and communities." Frieden tells ABC, via Politico, that the CDC is sending 50 staffers to West Africa because, he says, "The single most important thing we can do to protect Americans is to stop this disease at the source in Africa."
CDC has the legal authority to detain any person who may have an infectious disease that is specified by Executive Order to be quarantinable.
Such “quarantinable” diseases may include Cholera, Smallpox, Plague, SARS, Hemorrhagic fevers (like Ebola), and now even “respiratory illnesses” that may have symptoms similar to those of deadly viruses.
It was no accident that President Obama added the Executive Order amendment this morning. They can downplay the seriousness of Ebola all they want, but the fact is that hundreds of medical workers, including the World Health Organization, have failed to contain its spread.
In anticipation of the virus hitting U.S. shores, President Obama has set the legal authorization to essentially declare martial law in stone. The U.S. military, including the National Guard, also has contingency plans in place.
The minute this virus is detected in “the wild” on U.S. soil these directives will be executed.
These people in charge sure do think they can outsmart God.
And we’re stuck with the consequences.
You are correct. It takes only one not very ill flight attendant or traveler to share infected body secretions and an endemic breakout in vulnerable communities will occur. It won’t be epidemic since ebola is not transmitted by a pneumonic process. However even a limited endemic outbreak will cause panic and will be an economic disaster.Wonder if Obama would mind interrupting his birthday golf outing and explain why , despite his phone and pen, he is still allowing commercial flights in and out of endemic areas.
And that's just not the nature of the beast, as we have observed for decades.
Therefore, if (or rather when) the Feds decide to [ostensibly] respond to the cries of We the People for a wall/fence/alligator mote, rest assured it won't be for the benefit of lawful Americans.
I won't be the least surprised at the direction in which the tower guards will be firing.

IMHO this is what the zombie violent movies have been bringing us toward for a decade now. The stories are meant to numb us toward the slaughter of “infected” groups of people who’s mere contact with you will usher in your own death. Government hit squads mowing down infested carriers in the streets.

My wife pointed this out. I saw “Dr Nancy Snyderman” talking about how “It doesn’t pass through the air so air travel is completely safe” but in the very same segment they showed how they were outfitting the air ambulance with a negative pressure capsule to contain the patient being transported.
So, obviously the air ambulance doesn’t believe that there is no mechanism by which ebola is transmitted by coughing/sneezing.
So which is it?

All it would take is for a single person to become infected by these two and panic would ensue. Malls would become empty as the streets of Liberia today. The economy would literally grind to a halt.
IMO, precisely what obama wants.
How difficult would it be for a terrorist group to obtain some ebola contaminated blood (far easier than obtaining some nuclear material I suspect ) and infect some of the children flooding accross our southern border? Think about it. Our government would spread the virus all over the country. Wake up America. A perfect storm is brewing.

Ebola is transmitted the same way AID’S is, in this manner:
“Contact with infected blood and bodily fluids such as mucus and puss”.
Staphylococcus is spread in the same manner.
Do not touch anyone who has any of these things nor allow them to serve food or beverages.
Ditto for delivering medical care.
N95 masks have no possible, probable or demonstrably measurable effect, in terms of prevention.
Won’t kill you to wear em but, if you go that far then get nitrile gloves as well.
Nitrile gloves are easy put on, provide a barrier protection and enable very good tactile feedback to your hands and fingers....
You evidently do not understand much or anything about how the Ebola virus is spread and how it infects people. Once a person is infected with the Ebola virus and starts exhibiting the symptoms of the disease, the disease (Ebola) not being transmittable until after symptoms manifest, they are going to be way too sick and very sick way too fast by the time they are capable of infecting others to be engaging in sex or much of anything else for that matter.
Ebola is not a disease with a very long incubation period (only up to 21 days at a maximum but not proven to be transmittable human to human until after symptoms appear) nor has it been proven to have any sort of or any substantial transmission via sexual activity. Yes, a man who has had the Ebola virus and survived, their seamen and other bodily fluids can still contain the virus for up to 60 days, but then someone recovering from Ebola is going to be very weak and likely very impaired during that time and not very likely to be engaging in sex, hetoro or homo while recovering.
HIV/AIDS is a viral disease that works very differently from Ebola. People who contract HIV/AIDS can have a high viral load and are capable of transmitting it to others long before, sometimes years before the carrier first starts showing symptoms of it. And even when the first symptoms appear, they come on gradually and can be easily kept hidden from others for quite some time.
A person with Ebola is OTHO going to be very visibly sick very soon after onset. They are going to have debilitating headaches and severe body aches, a very high fever, and will very soon start vomiting and have uncontrollable bouts of diarrhea, their kidneys and liver soon start to stop functioning and they sometimes bleeding through the nose and ears as their blood vessels break down.

It isn't a disease limited to a group on the basis of sexual behaviour--medical personnel are catching this stuff.
Why you keep implying it is the coming scourge of the homosexuals and druggies is beyond me. Your kids could catch it off of playground equipment if one of their playmates is infected and sweating out the virus. Get a clue.
