Israel must have a free hand at absolutely destroying HAMAS/JIHAD and yes, even the PLO-FATAH but the world will not let her.
The other main factor is that Israeli society seems no longer willing to sacrifice thousands of her young soldiers anymore. She has moved on, beyond the ARab-Israeli conflict into the 21st century modernism. Problem is, the Arabs are still in the Stone Age, hence, I call them “Paleostinians”.
Israel is hypersensitive to losses and you would be too if, after this war’s casualties, you lost 64 men. Israel's 64 men = 2,500 US Servicemen. Those losses for a 30 day period?? Would we be willing to loose that many men in that short of a time?
Israel should call for world wide volunteers and not limited to those of Jewish heritage alone . Many many hard core U.S. combat veterans would love to get back in the fight , under a command that was willing to FIGHT and not smother them with ROEs . As for the No Supplies : the TV media is full of images of well built , Israel supplied concrete terror tunnels , being used against the hand that feeds them . There is no better a time to announce a complete cessation of any & all supplies until a fully demilitarized Gaza is realized . No shame there . Just do it . And WHY should Israel provide these cretins with FREE electricity ? screw that & cut it off

If they could, this is exactly what Israel would do.
Israel has not “ruled” Gaza since 2005. The Israelis even uprooted Jewish cemetaries in Gaza and brought remains back into Israel when they left. Israel left green houses for the Paleostinians but they were destroyed. Aabs know how to destroy real well.
Israel and Egypt supply them (the Gazans) access to trade and materials. It is UN-world pressure that allows for building materials to come in.
Israel is not looking for mercenaries not American boots on the ground which is more than I can say for every parasite Arab ally of the US. Israel is founded on the principal of Jewish self-defense so there is no recruiting going on.
Israel appreciates the material and psychological support of Patriotic Americans and has been worried since January 2009. They knew Obama would stab them in the back all the while pretending to be an ally. Obama signs bills and appropriations for Israel but he hates signing them. Even this Muslim Brotherhood loyalist cannot be seen OPENLY hurting Israel even though the facts speak for themselves...

Millions of Americans are extremely pissed off at how the current so-called ‘leadership’ is utterly failing in it obligation to confront and destroy radical islamist terrorism . Israel should not be so proud , too proud to accept these volunteers . Most would come extremely well pre trained . They don’t have to be Jewish . Christians , some Christians are almost equally motivated as Jews to defend the Holy land and defeat islam , in detail . Netanyahu should well consider this . An Israeli Foreign Legion ! Let us help !
OK, ok. I see your point. It is not just pride that motivates Israel. Her stated purpose is to defend herself but maybe a Foreign Legion could indeed be set up. Jews and Christians are in this fight - together. United we stand, divided we fall...

The U.S. has done that several times, look at Viet Nam, Iraq and now Afghanistan. How many of our sons and daughters have died for NOTHING? We no longer go to war to WIN it seems more likely to help reduce our over populated young people.
Israel has a huge number of companies listed in the NASDAQ or American interests in their county. That will not happen. Germany, Italy, France and the whole of Europe traded with Iraq in violation of sanctions that they too imposed as well as Iran. The world is awash with dirty money.
You are correct that we seem to think we CAN'T win after all, what is “winning” other than the total and absolute defeat of the enemy, as in WWII.
If you are going to invest the resources, manpower and life's blood of the nation, at least obliterate the enemy.
Israel has the same dilemma. This is the 3rd round with HAMAS since 2007! Israel will eventually have to destroy them or...the West will wise up and seriously limit what goes into Gaza.
Either way, the national will of the West is in a Latte Coffee cup and not on the battlefield!
