UNCONFIRMED reports suggest troops have sealed off Baghdad’s “Green Zone” in an apparent coup.

Controversial Iraqi PM Maliki won a fresh round of elections, but does not hold a clear majority in parliament.

He technically remains prime minister until parliament sits and votes.

But Mr Maliki has this morning lashed out against his opponents, calling them “ministers for ISIS”.

“Today I will file a formal complaint to the federal court against the president,” he said, in a surprise address at midnight Iraq time.

If Maliki truly opposes ISIS, I have no problem with being a dictator if that’s what it takes. Now is not the time for factional fighting when the country is falling apart.

Iraq needs a strong man. Preferably someone a lot more enlightened than was Hussein.

“I wonder if Obama will even stop golfing…?”

“Paging Mr. Obama! Please pick up the White Courtesy Phone in the Clubhouse”

Hey Manuel, jump in a cart and run out to the ninth hole, and tell the weird guy he has a 3AM Phone call.

[Sarcasm, in case anyone needs clarity]
The president, contrary to popular opinion, is not in fact doing nothing during this crisis. He already dispatched the secretaries of state and homeland security to study the situation, take notes, and provide recommendations for improvement... he’s hoping for a much smoother operation next time this kind of action is tried ... Jan 2017.
[/sarcasm]

It won’t be long until Bagdad is under 16 foot of water. Isis has the control of the dam

“It won’t be long until Bagdad is under 16 foot of water. Isis has the control of the dam”

Probably not in August.
Not enough water behind the dams.

Gollllly. Oh well. I’m sure Pres__ent PhotoOpObama is keeping abreast of developments.. if not actively transparently orchestrating the debacle he has turned Iraq into.

The present administration in Washington is desperate to keep it's precious hands washed, though they wanted the job so badly and cling to the illusion of what they believe to be "power" so tenaciously.

If all this weren't so heart attack serious as the Reichstag Fire, it might even be entertaining.

as I posted on another thread

CNN attempted to call the White House for comment but after a few rings they got a recorded message.

"Hi, We're not home right now, we are taking our bi-monthly luxury vacation, this one to lovely and white Martha's Vineyard where there are no illegal aliens. If this call is important enough just leave a message after the beep and I'll get back to you in a few weeks... one more Mojito, Garson!"
